Roxy's Story #3: Yugi(Discontinued)

Tiny Kitten

Anzu's POV

I watched as Yugi was arguing with Jonouchi about something pointless. I growled, Yugi could only glare up at Jonouchi. Yugi was unusually small for his age and people had a tendency to remind him of that every chance they get. I walked over when Seto had taken Yugi's Dark Magician card from him and held it above his head "come on, do you want your Dark Magician back or not" Seto mocked Yugi. "Give it back Kaiba!" Yugi shouted. "Why don't you try jumping for it" Kaiba teased. "I already tried that" Yugi whined. "Aww, is the tiny kitten angry" Seto laughed. I gently picked up Yugi so he was now eye level with Kaiba. He quickly snatched his card back while Kaiba was distracted by my intervention. "If Yugi's a kitten then you're a jackal" I said growling at Kaiba. "Jeez, calm yourself lioness. I'll leave your cub alone" Kaiba said backing away. I looked down at Yugi who I was still holding "Yugi might be a tiny kitten now but I know he will one day become a mighty lion" I said. Kaiba huffed before walking away. "He's just sour knowing that when you become a mighty lion he'll still be a thieving jackal" I said gently placing Yugi down. "Thanks Anzu" Yugi replied.

[Time skip to after school]

I looked around for Yugi as I was supposed to walk him home but I didn't see him "hey, Jonouchi?" I questioned. "Ya" Jonouchi asked. "Do you know where Yugi is?" I asked. "Wait, you don't know where he is?" Jonouchi asked panicked. "No, that's why I'm asking" I responded. "He said you asked him to meet you in the theater room" Jonouchi replied concerned. "I never said that" I said looking at Jonouchi, sudden realization dawned on us. "Someone tricked him" we both shouted as we ran towards the theater room.

Yugi's POV

I walked into the theater room "hello? Anzu?" I questioned. Dread washed over me and I tried to make a break for the door but someone grabbed me before I could. They immediately removed my puzzle from around my neck, this person must know about my partner. "The little lion cub away from his lioness, do you know what happens to kittens who wonder away from their caregivers in the wild?" The man asked. I shook my head 'Anzu and Yami wouldn't allow me to watch the nature channel, saying it would corrupt my innocence' I thought. "No? Larger animals kill them" the man said sadistically. I was pinned against the ground "now little kitten, you are no exception to this law" he said as three other men stepped out. 'ANZU! HELP!' I thought hoping that my bond with Anzu would allow her to hear my cry for help. I struggled to escape to no avail. They were having fun playing cat and mouse. I was pounced on for the twentieth time, I struggled to get up but I was too tired and in too much pain. I lay on the floor breathing heavily "aww is the kitten giving up?" One of the men taunted. I was roughly yanked off the floor before being slammed against a wall "I think you've had enough little kitten" the man said before throwing me against another wall. The four men climbed out the window and disappeared. The door opened to reveal Anzu and Jonouchi.

Anzu's POV

Jonouchi and I walked into the theater room and were horrified by what we saw. Yugi lay on the ground struggling to control his rapid breathing. "Yugi!" I shouted running over to him. He winced when I touched him. I noticed a piece of paper laying beside Yugi, picking it and reading it "you should keep a better watch on your cub" the note read. I gently picked up Yugi "Yugi? What happened?" I asked concerned. He didn't respond, I grew more worried. I picked up Yugi's puzzle and placed it around his neck.

Yami's POV

*aibou? Are you alright?* 《... hurts》 *I know little one, just sleep. Anzu will take care of you* 《An...zu》 *sleep my little hikari* I looked at Anzu 'it's not your fault lioness, we all make mistakes but we learn from them' I thought. Anzu carried Yugi out of the school and towards the nearest hospital, which was still a 2 hour walk away. A limousine pulled up beside us "What's wrong with the kitten?" Kaiba asked actually concerned. "A group of at least four men attacked him, they compared themselves to large predators preying on the weak" Anzu replied. Kaiba seemed angry that someone would dare to hurt Yugi. "Get in! I'll drive you to the hospital" Seto said. Normally Anzu would have refused but Yugi was her top priority, so she got into the limousine. It took less than 10 minutes to arrive at the hospital. "I want to apologize for teasing Yugi earlier, I meant no harm" Kaiba said. "I know, thank you for driving us here" Anzu replied.

[Time skip]

I stood to the side of Yugi's hospital bed as Anzu slept on a chair nearby. I looked over to my partner, he was sleeping peacefully. I picked up his chart, Yugi had 3 broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a mild concussion, a broken wrist and a sprained ankle. My poor little hikari must have been in a lot of pain. *Yugi?* 《don't blame yourself aibou, they removed the puzzle, there wasn't anything either of us could do》 *I know little one, that doesn't stop me from wanting to make them suffer for what they did to you* 《I wouldn't stop you but I think Anzu might beat you to it》 *oh dear, her rath is worse than mine, compared to her I would be merciful* 《I would hate to feel her rath》 *ya* 《I'm going back to sleep》 *ok aibou* I disappeared back into the puzzle.

[2 weeks later]

Yugi was finally allowed to leave the hospital. *let's celebrate your release with pizza* 《you really love pizza don't you》 *yes, I want pineapple and ham on my pizza* 《I want mushrooms, how about we substitute the ham for mushrooms》 *that's an odd combination* 《pineapple and mushroom》 *ya* 《Roxy likes pineapple and mushroom on her pizza》 *who's Roxy?* 《Kaiba's head doctor, she's very kind》 *oh* 《how bout we invite Roxy to lunch, she's probably bored all alone in Kaiba's huge mansion》 *well, Kaiba was the one who drove us to the hospital and he seems to really care about his doctor, I think he would appreciate it if someone helped her*

Yugi's POV

Yugi: hey Roxy

Roxy: hey kitten. is there something you needed?

Yugi: I wanted to know if you wanted to join Yami and me for lunch?

Roxy: I would love to, where should we meet?

Yugi: let's meet up at Reed's pizza house

Roxy: isn't that place known for having the best pizza and pastas?

Yugi: yes

Roxy: how do you have the money to eat there?

Yugi: the school gave me $700 so I wouldn't say anything about the incident that happened to me.

Roxy: so they bribed you to keep quiet?

Yugi: pretty much

Roxy: maybe you won't say anything but I doubt Master Kaiba would be so easy to sway

Yugi: I'm counting on it, it's a win win situation

Roxy: you're a sly little weasel

Yugi: hehe

Roxy walked up and we headed inside for lunch.
