Hit and Run

Yugi's POV

I was walking to Anzu's house as she had invited me to the arcade, of course Jonouchi and Honda were coming too. *you seem excited aibou* 《of course, Anzu had originally asked only me. Jonouchi and Honda just happened to overhear and wanted to come》 *I think Anzu wanted this to be a date, just you and her* 《I think she likes you more than she does me》 *I'm sure that's not true* 《maybe, maybe not》 *we're at Anzu's door little one* 《oh》I knocked on the door and waited. The door opened "oh, hello Yugi. Ready to go to the arcade?" Anzu asked. "Ya" I replied happily. We headed towards the arcade, I was so excited that I ran across the street towards the arcade "Yugi! Look out!" I heard Anzu scream. I noticed the car coming at me, I didn't have time to respond. *YUGI* was the last thing I heard before blacking out.

Anzu's POV

I watched Yugi happily run across the street towards the arcade when suddenly a car rounded the corner with no intent to stop "Yugi! Look out!" I shouted but it was too late, the car hit Yugi head on. The car just continued on like nothing happened as I ran over to Yugi. His small size caused him to fly forwards and crash down on the pavement. I watched as a pool of blood formed around my friend. I kneeled beside him, someone had already called an ambulance. It took 6 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. Jonouchi and Honda ran over seeing the ambulance "Anzu! What happened" Jonouchi asked panicked. I looked at him "Yugi was hit by a car" I whimpered. Jonouchi looked horrified "what!" He said before noticing the pool of blood on the street. A limousine pulled up nearby and Kaiba ran over after seeing the ambulance leaving "what happened?" He asked. I couldn't respond "Yugi was hit by a car" Jonouchi replied. Seto shared the same look of horror "Oh God, how bad was he?" He asked before spotting the blood and the color drained from his face. He turned his attention back to us "get in, I'll drive you to the hospital" Seto said. I smiled gratefully at him "thank you" I said before getting into the limousine followed by Jonouchi and Honda.

[Time skip]

We arrived at the hospital and I ran up to the front desk "who are you here for" the person at the desk asked. "Yugi Motou" I replied. She looked up at me "um, he's in room 14 at the end of the hall" she said. The look on her face caused me to hesitate for a second before I headed to room 14. I halted at the letters on the door ICU. I cautiously opened the door and hesitantly walked in. Yugi was lying unconscious hooked up to so many different machines. He looked small and weak, it was heartbreaking. "Yugi" I whimpered walking over to the bed. I gently pet Yugi's head "my little lion cub, please open your eyes" I pleaded.

Jonouchi's POV

I watched sadly as Anzu pet Yugi's head, what she said broke my heart "my little lion cub, please open your eyes" Anzu pleaded. I turned to look at the other two standing next to me, Honda looked on the verge of tears and Seto seemed like he wanted to murder someone. I walked over to Kaiba gently grabbing his hand trying to calm him down. He froze before turning his attention to me. The moment our eyes met a strange feeling washed over me, I felt nervous and excited at the same time. I didn't even realize how close we got to each other until our faces were mere inches apart. Before I knew it I had pulled Seto into a kiss.

Yugi's POV

I opened my eyes confused where I was, I did not expect to see Jonouchi and Seto kissing. "What?!" I screeched startling everyone. The two quickly pulled away blushing. I just giggled at their embarrassment. *that was not at all what I expected to wake up to* 《me neither》 *I think this might actually be your doing* 《huh, how?》 *they were both very upset about you being injured, Jonouchi originally tried to comfort Seto and then they just started kissing* 《at least one good came out of this horrible situation》 *actually two* 《hmm》 *they caught and arrested the person who hit you. He was charged with hit and run and attempted murder* 《that's good, he won't be able to hurt anyone else》 *in all seriousness you could have been killed little one, you really need to better pay attention to your surroundings, I don't know what I would do if something happened to you, I don't want to lose the most important person to me. Next time you won't be so lucky, you could be permanently injured or worse* 《I know and I'm sorry》 *it's just, you're a precious little light that chases away the darkness, without you the darkness would consume everything* 《that's a little intense Yami, you and I both know that danger finds me no matter what I do. One day the darkness will get me but I can promise you that I won't go down without a fight》 *I know aibou, I just don't want to lose you to the darkness too soon, only natural causes will ever take you away from me* 《ok, things are getting too dark for me, let's change the subject. This conversation is depressing》 *oh, sorry little one. Did you know that Anzu calls you her little lion cub?* 《she does? Well Seto does compare Anzu to a lioness》 "Yugi?" Anzu questioned. I smiled at Anzu, purring "ya?" I asked. She froze before gently petting my head "the doctor said you could leave the hospital in 2 weeks" Anzu replied. "That's too long" I whined. "I really don't like hospitals, I would rather be anywhere else than here" I complained. "I could take Yugi to my house, I have some of the best doctors and the medbay doesn't have the hospital feel to it" Kaiba said. I looked up at Anzu pleading to allow it. "Well if it makes Yugi more comfortable than I'm ok with it" Anzu replied. Seto walked up to the front desk to let them know of the arrangement before carrying me to the limousine. "Ready to go kitten?" Kaiba asked. "Ya" I replied. Anzu and Jonouchi came with us and Honda went home. Kaiba carried me through the front door of his mansion and walked down a maze of hallways to the medbay. The hallways leading to the medbay were painted purple, every hallway had different colors. "I had the hallways painted all different colors because a long time ago I lost Mokaba in the maze of hallways" Kaiba said as if reading my mind. Anzu followed close behind, Jonouchi had decided to wait in the living room. Kaiba carried me into the medbay "Dr. Wolf?" Kaiba questioned. A woman stepped out "yes Master Kaiba?" Dr. Wolf asked. "Good afternoon Roxy, I have a patient for you" Kaiba replied. "Oh, I'm guessing it's this adorable little boy that you're holding" Roxy said gently petting my head. She was so friendly to me that I couldn't be mad at her for calling me a little boy. Instead I politely corrected her "I might be small but I'm in high school" I said. She smiled "I'm sorry, little cub, I didn't mean to offend you. You're just really adorable, if it makes you feel better the smallest lion cubs almost always become the the mightiest lions" she replied. "I'm sorry, I forgot to ask you your name little cub" Roxy replied. "My name is Yugi" I responded. "Well Yugi, why don't I see your injuries, that way you can get to sleep as soon as possible" Roxy said gently taking me from Seto's grasp and placing me on the bed "you weren't kidding when you said the medbay didn't have a hospital feel to it, this bed is so soft and comfortable" I purred happily. I was quickly losing to my exhaustion, I was soon asleep.
