*Inspiration taken from chapters 19 & 20 of The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert*
I had a vision of the knife's tip piercing my wrist
A gunshot sound I flinched from
Death lay like a heavy stone on my chest
My fault for trusting a fan
The knife glinted at the level of my eyes
It's you or both of you
The careless slice
My skin felt electrified
Fear dropped, replaced with blank shock
I fell into a numb black sea
Alone in a clearing in the deep, dark woods
I entered a fairy tale
The blood was a line then a smear then a red curtain
By your hand, you'll die tonight
