"Hey do you guys have the book Medea?" I asked the librarian. She stopped typing on the computer and pulled her glasses on her face. "You didn't check around?" She asked with a stank face.
"Yes ma'am I checked everywhere" she looked a me for a while before getting up "wait here" she said and walking away.
I checked my watch seeing how much time I had left. A little under 30 minutes. The Liberian was gone quite a while and I really had to go. I decided to start walking off before I heard a "miss"
I turned around and she was walking with the book. "The last one we own" she said.
"I appreciate but I don't have the time to check it out right now I have to go pick up my child" I told her "I'm running late"
"Go Chile I'll have the book waiting on your return you look like you need it for a very impressive thing" she said
"Yes I do my college essay I'll be back tomorrow!!" I yelled running out the door to catch the bus. Two blocked laters I made it just on time. Tapping my card I headed to an empty sit. I pulled out my iPad and began filling out some applications.
"Im tired of this young kids with this kids coming on the bus with these strollers and expecting us elderly people to get up and move" I heard a lady say across from me. I looked up to see a young lady around my hair struggling to get on the bus with her stroller. Nobody even the bus driver wanted to help so I got up and helped her on.
"Thank you so much" she said as she had taken a sit after making sure the baby was safely strapped.
"No problem I have a child myself I know how difficult it can be" I say "I'm Karter"
"Bianca this is my daughter Jasmine" she pulled back the blanket.
"Awn she's cute" I smiled I heard my stop being announced. I waved goodbye to the two and exit the bus.

"Kyran mommy's here" one of the daycare ladies said. I saw my baby look up from playing with the toys and started smiling. I watched him get up and walked to me.
"Hey mommy's big boy" I kissed his cheek. I grabbed all this belonging and we left.
I had to stop at the currency exchange to get the money my parents had sent me. I was tired from school and studying I just wanted to go to bed but I couldn't I had moves to make for me and my son. Being a single mom and living on your own far away from your family is hard. But I been managing for the last year.
Making to the currency exchange I was disappointed when I got their I had to call my parents.
"Hello mom, the money hadn't been sent it's the 7th" I said over the phone
"Honey I had to put it on hold me and your father is out on a vacation in Dubai"
"Mom!! I need the money to pay for Ky's daycare is month and I had to buy him food and a coat it's getting chilly now!!! Mom you know I don't have a job rn as I'm doing everything alone!"
"Honey I kno I'm sorry I tried to do it before we left but your father didn't wanna miss the flight.. can you hold on until the 14th?"
"That's a week from now mom ! Where's dad?" Can't he do it from out there"
"Kevin look at that animal let's take a picture- Honey I gotta go call you back when we get back to the hotel love you" *click*
I signed in frustration. I hated bad timing. I know I can rely on parents all the time and that's why I'm looking for a job right now.
"Hey I overheard your conversation and it sounds like you need a little help so I wanted to help you" I turn face to a man. He was young and handsome.
"No thanks I appreciate it though I'm gonna be okay" I declined politely
"Well to make me feel better for declining can I have a hug?" I looked at him weirdly but I gave him a side hug. He walked off and I watched him until he was out of sight.
"Kyran no!" I picked him up and laid him in the bed it was bedtime and he wanted to play. I have a 9am class in the morning and an interview at Target at 11 which means he needs to be in bed so do I.
I warmed him up some milk and gave it to him inna a bottle. I turned on Paw Patrol before turning off my bedroom lights. It wasn't long before he was knocked out and soon was I.

" I want a 30 page essay on the new book we are reading, it's due when the Christmas break is over" my English teacher said dismissing the class. I sighed
I closed my notebook and exit out the room looking down on my phone. I texted my mom since she never called me.
"Karter! Wait up!" I turned and saw my friend Tyree. Me and him been friends since I first moved here in town. She showed me and around and showed me and my son so much love.
"Hey Ty!" I hugged and kissed his cheek. "Hey baby mama"
"Girl lemme tell you how I almost had to do a pop up out there at Mike girl! I thought he was with another nigga"
Mike was Tyrees Boyfriend since high school. They been on and off for years.
I laughed. "Mike is not gonna cheat on you.. he loves you too much" I say
"Tyrees I love you I gotta go catch the bus to my interview!" I hugged and him and ran to catch the bus.
