Piper's P.O.V:
I woke up in Jake's arms with my face buried in his fur. How long had i been passed out? As i looked to the east, i saw that the sun was poking the top of it's head out from the horizon so i assume that we were out most of the night. The Ice King was gone, probably fleeing the disaster or trapped under the rubble of his own home. Either way would be fine by me.
"Jake, wake up." my voice seemed suddenly frantic as i saw that Finn was nowhere to be seen. Only snow and rubble for miles. The dog only groaned. I shook him lightly to try and get him up. "Jake! I can't find Finn!"
At this he slowly opened his eyes and propped himself up on his elbows. "What?"
"You heard me! Didn't you grab him when the building collapsed?" I had to keep myself from screaming his name at this point.
I didn't wait for his answer and only went to find Finn in the rubble. I hoped that he wasn't buried alive. If he was i would never ever forgive myself. Calling out his name several times without and answer, i dropped to my knees and pulled off my fancy ball gown gloves. The cold bit at my fingers as they scooped up the first chunk of snow in my hands. I flinched every time they dug deeper into the snow and ruble but i didn't stop. If i didn't find Finn quick he might suffocate.
"Finn! Finn, where are you?" Tears started to stream down my face and freeze where they sat as i felt the hopelessness set in. By now i was lying motionless in a giant waist deep hole, fingers bloody with Jake sitting by still trying to get his bearings. Where were those gloves? I saw them a few feet away and grabbed them, trying to dab away the blood from my shivering hands with the cloth.
"Piper? What are you doing down there?" The familiar fourteen year old hero's voice rang out in the silence, causing me to jump up from my laying position.
"Finn! What the heck? You scared me to death." As he jumped down into the hole to see me i threw my arms around his neck and hugged him tight, his body heat warming me up.
"I'm sorry. I was chasing off the Ice King. Hey... you're bleeding. Here, i have some bandages in my backpack."
I removed my tear stained face from his tuxedo jacket and looked him in the eyes. "Finn, i'm--" Before i could even finish my sentence i found his lips on mine. It wasn't a long one, it was maybe only five seconds until we had to break apart. But to me those five seconds were pure bliss. I was on cloud nine as some people call it when they're in love. Yes, i was in love. I think this is what it feels like.
Suddenly, Finn and i pulled away from each other as Jake rushed up to us, now fully awake. "Buddy, you're okay!" Jake shrank down to his normal size and wrapped him in a bro hug. Maybe he didn't see the kiss. If he did he might have pretended not to notice or he was warming up to me by now. He knew that i could never hurt Finn, even if my life depended on it. I quietly stepped back and watched their little reunion with a small smile on my face.
Hey, what was that? Out of the corner of my eye i could see something half buried under the snow. It looked like a book or something. I hesitantly pulled it out of the snow until i could see the full cover. It was fairly old and tattered with a leather cover with gold letters. The Magic Users Spell book by-- that was all i could make out because the rest was illegible from water damage and years of wear and tear. It must be the Ice King's or something.
"Piper, lets go home." Finn and Jake called for me making me jump. I slipped the book into my bag and climbed onto Jake's back with Finn as he grew larger. Finn wrapped his arms around my waist to keep me from falling off. I would read more of the book later i thought to myself as i drifted off to sleep in his arms.
