Am slept through the night and felt her forehead where Otto kissed her. She was glad that he understood her very well. The next morning came and Am wants to take things slow with Otto. She waited for Erica to wake up. Linda was a little curious about her actions.
"Am, Erica told me about your little thing with Otto," Linda said calmly, "Is there something between you two?"
Am isn't as defensive as Mya.
"There is," Am answered, "Have you dated anyone, Linda?"
Linda shook her head.
"No, but I'm so busy," she replied, "I don't have time for someone to date. But I could help you. Relationships have to run their natural path."
"And...?" Am asked.
"The first stage of being in a relationship is hugging," Linda pointed out, "If you get to stage two, there will be some strong feelings growing, and you will get to stage three which is kissing."
Am listened to what Linda is telling her.
"Then you'll make it to stage four which is cuddling," Linda finished.
Am nodded. She went to the couch to sit down. Her thoughts were on Otto, from yesterday how he hugged her. She knew what Linda meant. She hope to see him again soon.
"What about stage eight...?" Am asked to herself.
"You stay away from that stage!" Linda added, hearing Am talking to herself.
Am gasped, knowing Linda could be right.
"Stick with those four stages as the relationship goes," Linda pointed out.
Mya was still asleep. She thought about the promise she and Gar made once they're older to start dating. She hope to see him again today since things have been peaceful so far. She even dreamed of being with Gar sometimes. Mya blushed thinking about those dreams, but she promised Am and Erica not to kiss Gar, not until she's older at least. Mya has a good memory, even she doesn't remember her past.
'I need to ask Erica,' she thought, 'She knows them better than I do.'
Pushing her thoughts of Gar aside, she wanted to know for a long time. She hope Erica could give her the answers she seeks.
"ACHOOoo!"
Am caught a cold the next morning. Her nose was all runny and Erica provided her with plenty of tissues. The Pichu girl layed still in her bed, waiting for her cold to run its natural course. Her throat was very sore after all that coughing last night.
"Where's Am?"
Erica recognized Otto's voice.
"Am's sick right now," Erica told him, "So she can't leave the base. Sorry, Otto."
Mya wondered if Otto knows that Gar is also with him, but he wasn't.
"But this is very important," Otto plead.
"Am Can't Leave the base," Erica repeated sternly.
"I know, but I can come back once she feels better," Otto added.
Mya went over to Am, not coming any closer to catch her cold. Am sniffled.
"You feeling okay, Am?" Mya asked.
"Just feeling terrible..." Am answered all stuffed up.
Mya was a bit worried.
"Erica, what did our mother look like?" she asked.
Erica knew Mya was about to ask about their mother.
"She had brown hair like mine," Erica told her, "And she had blue eyes like Am. She had the biggest heart any mew mew can ever have. She was really kind to us."
"And our father?" Mya asked.
"He had brown hair too," Erica answered, "but he had darker green eyes. He was a strong and powerful mew mew. He fought hard to make sure we escape. Our mother inhaled too much smoke. Glenda led us out of the burning forest. When some strangers entered the soot coated woods, Glenda risked her life to bind us time to escape and to make sure we all survive. Now Am reminds me so much of our mother. Every time I look into her blue eyes, I still see her. Mya, our parents loved you very much, you just can't remember them well. Am and I loved them very much and Am was heart-broken when they died. She cried every night and I was always there for her. The memory of their fate still haunts her today."
Mya was a bit shocked and sad at the same time.
"You need to understand Mya," Erica told her kindly, "that I am doing the best I can. But Linda, Cleo and Angela are going to look after us for now on."
"Okay..." Mya sighed, "I just wanted to know, that's all."
"It's okay Mya," Erica cued, "Let's focus on helping Am get better. Otto was here earlier and I told him she can't leave the base."
"Was Gar with him?" Mya asked.
Erica shook her head.
"I didn't see him," she answered, "but I'm sure you will soon. Let's help Am get better for now."
