'I can't wait to get home. This was such a shit trip' I text my boyfriend. I've just landed at the Dublin airport and grabbed my luggage before waiting for my Uber to arrive. I had flown back to America to finalize my move to Ireland and pack a few last minute things. Unfortunately that meant I had to actually see my ex while retrieving some paperwork from our lawyer and finalizing the divorce.

'Almost there, pet. I can't wait to see you' he replies.

After my ex and I separated, I traveled. He had no desire to see the world and he always held me back from what I wanted to do. So, I went to all the places he didn't want to go with a few friends. On our trip to Ireland, I met Bressie and we connected fast and we became quick friends. I found myself missing him when I returned home. We stayed in touch and soon I was flying back and forth as often as I could to see him, with him also surprising me stateside for visits.

Once I'm in my Uber, it's a quick ride to his apartment. I use my new key to let myself in to our apartment and find a note waiting for me at the kitchen counter.

Hey love - I had to run to the market for a few items, hope you don't mind. Make yourself at home, it's yours too, now. Love you, Bres

I take my bags to the bedroom and set them down. I decide to unpack these last bags later. Most of my things have already been moved in and unpacked and this trip was the last official time having to go back. I'm officially here. My family was non existent at this point and it was a quick and easy decision to move when Bressie asked me. There wasn't much of anything keeping me in Maine anymore.

He had flown back home with me a few times to help pack and bring some of my stuff over for me. We also had a company ship most of my things. I decided to sell most of the larger furniture that I couldn't unload on my friends. For how expensive this move was, trying to ship furniture that Bressie already had seemed to be a waste of time and money.

I figure he might be a while getting back from the store, especially on a Sunday, so I decide to take a quick bath and unwind. Seeing my ex was harder than I imagined it would be and he wasn't a kind person when we were together and certainly not now that we were divorced. I know that Bres will understand if he gets home while I'm still in here. I pick out one of my bath bombs and some bubbles, and start the water. While I'm waiting for the tub to fill up, I pick up a random book from my pile of unread books on the bookshelf in our bedroom and go back to the bathroom to undress.

I peel off my travel clothes of yoga pants and a hoodie, placing them in the hamper. I plug my phone into the little waterproof speaker we keep in here and turn on my playlist of my boyfriends music. If he's not here, this will have to do, and I step into the warm pink water of the tub. This is just what I needed. A calming bath, music and a good book. All I need is Bres.

I've lost myself in the book, and the water is beginning to cool down, when he finally comes home. I hear him yell through the apartment looking for me, searching the rooms till he finally comes close enough to hear me.

'In here!' I respond to him.

He comes barreling into the room, excited to see me after the long week we've been apart. His eyes go wide when he sees me in the tub, bubbles fading and I giggle when he blushes.

'How are ya? Was it that bad?' He knows my bath, book, and music destress routine all too well.

'I missed you' I smile at him, as he kneels down next to the tub. He leans in closer, grabs my face , and kisses me. I set the book down on the counter and look back to him.

'I'm just glad I don't have to see him ever again. He was incredibly rude, insensitive, and cold. I get that it wasn't an ideal situation, like we only had to see each other to sign the papers, but he was so...mean. I don't know how I stayed for so long, but I got here and I didn't want to start my life here angry.'
