Beatrice had lived in SF since she had moved there for Collage. California was nothing like she had expected, wide open spaces, huge red woods, wine. Oh...the wine was.... amazing. Beatrice couldn't imagine anything else that could ever compare, especially her home town. Coconut Cove, Florida. Oh that had been her personal version of Hell. Her little brother had decided to join a group of activists that protected wild life in the USA. She worked at a tech company called Zumble. She was good at what she did and she loved what she did.
It was Friday so as she did every Friday she went to The Red Dragon, her and her friends favorite bar.
When she got there her four best friends were already there, in there regular booth. Let me introduce you. Tasha, the bland, perky, Fitness Trainer at and upscale gym. Bijou, cynical feminist and activist who was in her last year of grad school. Jose, total hipster and Bartender at the red dragon. Cole, app developer and a total flirt. So yeah.... That was her little group of friends.
"Hey! B! Over here. Jose was just having us try out his newest creation. Try it! It's like super good." Tasha shouted out across the bar.
"Tasha is correct. My newest drink mix is called the " Red Flower " it is a careful mix of scotch, strawberry juice, muddled mint and-" Jose began to talk but Bijou Cut him off with :" blah blah. Booze is booze. This shit is fantastic, you gotta try this, it'll blow your mind." Beatrice smiled at the remark made by the lesbian activist. No matter how strong she may come off she was a total sweetheart once you got to know her.

Nevertheless her last comment earned her a look that could kill from Jòse. Just as she thought the two of them would get into an argument Cole stepped in and rescued the situation from an argument with the line: " Hey...Relax. That's what we're here to do and that is what I would be doing if you two hadn't started acting like old ladies." This time two sets of eyes glared at him and Beatrice was very amused. Beatrice slid into the booth next to Tasha who gave her a tight hug , the three of them (her, Tasha and Bijou) had lived together for a few years now and everything was going very smoothly.
" So..B. Any news from your little brother?" Cole piped in carefully. They all knew her relationship with her brother was a bit Rockey. He had changed his name when she ha just moved to SF and she had paid for his therapy to make sure she got back on his feet. " He's doing okay. Right now he's with that non profit climate thing in Asia protesting against something... I'm guessing something climate related." And that was the truth James (as he now called himself) was in Thailand making waves with lots of protests about...she had already forgotten.
" Good for him. Man he's pretty cool. He should drop by here when he's done in Asia." Said Tasha. "If I were straight, I'd be totally into him..." The comment made by Bijou turned all of their heads. She looked suprised and embarrassed.  " Did I say that out loud?" They all burst out laughing. The night continued on like that for quite some time until a question about what else was going on in Beatrices life popped up.
" Well...I'm doing fine. I have you guys around a lot...and... Oh, yeah! We're getting a new guy at work tomorrow, he's from Nebraska. Which reminds me... I have work early tomorrow morning and I have to get going." Saying goodbye to everyone and everyone saying goodbye to her she left the bar and took the bus and short walk to her apartment.
The next morning she got up and ready to go to work. She stopped by a coffee shop on her way there.
" Beatrice! " Mira, a colleague of hers in the games department of Zumble waved her over.
" Hey Mira. How are you?" Asked Beatrice politly. " Good. I'm good. Did you hear about the new guy at work? I bet he's one of those grumpy, serious types that doesn't have a lot of fun but will losen Up once he meets the perfect girl." Mira said staring off into space. Beatrice laughed.  " And I think someone has been reading to many romantic novels." " Hey! I have Excellent taste in books!" Mira defended herself, " oh, it's late we better get to work."
So they happily walked down the street chatting about work. When they got there Mira headed to her desk as Rachel , Beatrices boss, pulled her into a conference room with the words: " As you may have heard we have a new employee with us today and I want you to show him around and take him under your wing, okay? Good. He's just in here." Beatrice's jaw dropped slightly when she saw who was standing in front of her. The following thoughts echoed through her mind: 1) my god, I thought I'd never see him again. 2) what is he doing here? I haven't seen him since high school. 3) OMG he really, really looks good in that shirt, the muscle he must have...
4) I did not just have that last thought
All she could choke out was the one name she hadn't said in so long , never thought she would use in this context and absolutely loved the sound of. " ....Roy?"

Hey guys, please tell me what to right next you can direct this in which every direction you want. I was planning on it being a romantic comedy. But I have no idea what I'm doing, please don't hate me just tell me what to write!!! Bye!;)
