Chapter 8
March 11th
Tasha was not happy during her tutorial the next week.
The students had to get into pairs and perform a small role play in front of the class based on what they had learnt in the lecture.
The students paired up and Tasha had managed to pair herself up with Sebastian who seemed unnaturally keen to have a go at this role play.
Tasha was dreading it.
Sebastian wanted to give it a real go.
He said he wanted to get the most out of it.
"You be the counsellor?" Sebastian suggested, "that might be easier, don't you think?"
"I think so," replied Tasha, "you're the one who has to think of all your problems."
Sebastian laughed, "I think I can manage that."
And then it was time to get to work.
...
The one hour tutorial had gone for ages and Tasha was glad when it was over. She admitted that being the counsellor wasn't as hard as she thought it was, but she hated doing the role play in front of the class. Sebastian was a natural at it, and his performance was pretty much real, which made it easy for Tasha because he babbled on about a number of issues. Tasha pretty much had to ask him, 'and how do you feel about that?'
Now she only hoped that the tutor wouldn't have minded.
"Don't stress, Tasha," said Sebastian as everyone walked to the library to fill in some time.
"It's too hard," replied Tasha, "I hated that. And now we are going to get a bad mark for it."
"We aren't being marked for it, and this is only early in the semester, and the course. We aren't expected to be expert counsellors yet."
"I guess not."
"Just don't stress, otherwise it is going to make things worse."
"Things are already bad if we have to do role plays in front of the class."
"I think this course kind of asks for that, Tasha," said Emma.
"No one told me," replied Tasha.
"Didn't you read between the lines?"
"Not really."
"Well, maybe you should next time."
"Maybe I will."
Everyone then made their way inside the library, Tasha hoping that she could forget about the horrible role play.
...
In the meanwhile, Adam was in the café on his campus and he was staring at the screen of his laptop for some time. He thought that he would like studying Egyptology, but it was harder than he thought. But he was looking forward to the week long trip to Egypt that was coming up and Adam was sure that he would enjoy it. It would be a very interesting trip and Adam had always wanted to go to Egypt. Now he had the chance and he couldn't have been happier.
Now if only his work could have been that fun and exciting.
"Hey, Adam."
Adam turned around when he heard the voice behind him, "hey, Ethan," he replied.
Ethan Wood kind of reminded Adam of himself. They were both as silly as one another and they both had black hair styled messily on the top of their heads. On top of all of this, Ethan was just as into Egypt as Adam was. Adam liked this because he finally had someone who he could talk about Ancient Egypt with other than his cat.
