She was driving down the road 55 mph in her old worn out Jeep. Quietly she hummed the tune of the latest pop song hit under her breath. It had been a long day at work and her daughter Lani was expecting her home soon. She slowed down at the intersection, and crossed the street. She had never gotten a ticket in her life and wasn't planning on getting any soon. And then a red pickup truck barreled into her car at 90mph. The world stopped, and she was gone.

Lani impatiently paced around the kitchen. Her mother got off work more than two hours ago! Where could she possibly be?

"Guess I'll just try calling her again for the forty-millionth time" she grumbled under her breath.

Just then the house phone began to ring and she rushed to go pick it up.

"Hello?" she said anxiously

"This is the local police department calling about Jamie Smith"

Her heart sank

" Are you her daughter?"

"Yes." she replied worriedly, what could her mom possibly gotten into?

"I'm sorry to inform you, she was in a car accident earlier today, she died."

Lanis' heart stopped, everything stopped, she couldn't breathe.

"Hello? Hello?" said the man on the end

She ended the call.

Time seemed to freeze, she couldn't move, she didn't seem to be able to breathe. She suddenly started to sob, tears pouring down her face. Her mom, who should've gotten the award for best mom of the century. Her mom, the woman who deserved the best man in the whole entire universe. Her mom who would take her to get crappy petitcures for her birthday. This wonderful being she is now "was" proud to call her, her mother is dead. Why do some of the best people in life, live a crappy one? She was too young, only thirty two . She deserved the best, she really did, but now she's gone.

She cursed the world and all the terrors within it, and sobbed herself to sleep
