You have been in Alexanderia with Rick and the group for a few months now after Daryl and Aaron found you alone, surrounded by a herd of walkers. You always thought to yourself how it never seems to end, how the walkers never seem to stop coming or attacking. Like they are the vultures and you are the prey they are tending to feed upon. Daryl and Aaron found you practically on the verge of starvation, and dehydrated insanely. As you say in your home fiddling with your weaponary, You thought back to the moment of fighting off as many walkers as possible to save your own life, and all you can remember is Aaron helping you off to the side away from the flesh hungered monsters as they fought off the small herd.
You daydream back to being asked three questions you were asked before you were, more than likely, about to die. Daryl and Aaron slowly approached you handing you a canteen signaling you needed water. They began asking blunt, but calmly, "How many walkers have you killed?" You remember exactly sitting on the edge of the sidewalk in shock zoning in and out between the deep redneck' voice, and the sweet sensitive voice. You remember looking up trying to concentrate and mumbling as loud as you could, "Can't keep track, but I've killed hundreds... if not, more." Another question was asked, "how many people have you killed?" You didn't seem to hesitate, knowing the fact that you've had to kill as many people as you had to kill as walkers to protect yourself. You look up at them and spoke, "more than I probably should have in a lifetime, but for good reasons." Your voice chocked out, knowing your last group was with your family, shaking at the thought and chills sent up your spine remembering the god awful screams and cries of them being taken from life right out of your grip. You survived so long with your family, and yet you were the only one who made it out alive, and not bitten. You were asked a final question, "Why?" You kind of chuckled at the question, knowing as if it was obvious, but explaining your reason, "Because I had to defend yourself, my people... my family. I was the only one who made it out." You had no problem being brutally honest with people, but you could see the good and hope in these people's eyes. There was always some blissfullness of fortunate hope for your future.
You snapped out of your daydreaming after Rick and Daryl came back from their run. As Eugene opened the gates you ran outside on your front porch to see what all the commotion was about. Rick and Daryl drove through with an unfamiliar person lying in the backseat. You had asked yourself under your breath, "What the hell is going on out there?" Rick and Daryl hopped out the vechile opening the back doors carrying a man who seemed to be passed out cold with his hands tied. You had slightly jogged over to ask what had happened walking up to Rick saying, "Hey, who the hell is that guy? What happened out there?!" Rick saw the obvious concern in your face because you were always caring of the group, and what happens on runs. The runs can sometimes be strenuous and risky, but that is how we live now.
Rick looked at you, with sweat gleaming down his face and clothing, speaking with his thick Georgian accent, "We hit a damn jackpot... had a truck load of food. This... strange man comes up and tricks us makin' us think there was damned gunshots goin' off. Took our shit, ran after the son of a bitch, took our truck back, then he had the damned nerve to hop on the truck, and I guess Daryl and him got into it, and sent off the truck in reverse while them two were fightin' and.. gone. Into the damn lake the truck went. I'm guessin' if I'm not mistaken the opened truck door knocked out the guy. A damn screwed up situation, huh?" As you listened to Rick explaining the chaotic situation you tried to shake off the fact that they actually brought him back into Alexanderia, but you knew the group was trying to do the right thing. You and the group have been trying to recruit as many helpless as possible to have a chance at some kind of way of living, but its unusual to bring "strangers" into your home.
Rick gently grabbed your shoulder looking at you saying, "Look, (Y/N), I know you're not on a shift but can you go check on 'em in the infirmary? Don't need them 'em trying to steal our shit or escape if he wakes up. Besides, Denise isn't on her shift and there's meetin' I need to have with everyone else. I know you're one of the best "nurses" we got." You nod your head yes, letting Rick know you'll watch after the strange man who tried to steal our truck load of food. As Rick walked away you looked at him and said "Rick?" He stopped in his footing and said, "Yeah Y/N?" You stood for a minute pondering on your thought, but stating, "Who is he? The man brought you brought back here?" Rick stopped and looked at you for a minute, and said, "Just ask em' his name when he wakes up. Don't let em' do anything stupid, and be careful please, he's a sneaky lil' bastard. You'll be okay, (Y/N)?" You froze for half a second, and subconsciously shouted, "Yeah, I can handle it, Rick." He nods and continues his way back to the house.
You made your way to the infirmary where the blacked out man was at. As you cautiously walked your way down the road, you thought back relatively quickly to the job before the outbreak of this apocalypse. You were a technician at an animal clinic, and you cared for animals basically the same way you do for people injured in the infirmary. It's as close to being a nurse as you'll get, but you have basic first aid skills. You remember how similar helping animals was, as it is to humans of that nature. You loved your job before the apocalypse, but that was your duty here in Alexanderia. Quickly, you began shaking off your continuous daydream as you walked into the infirmary taking a glimpse of the man lying down, still passed out. You furrowed your eyebrows at the looks of him. He seemed clean, and polished. Shoulder length blond hair, and a beautiful beard. For just a split second you found him attractive at the sight, but then pushing the thought out of your head. You needed to focus on keeping him healthy, at least that's what Rick wanted. You walked quietly to the medicine cabinet looking for some Asprin or Ibuprofen, knowing that when he awakens, he will probably have a major headache. You noticed he had some slight bleeding toward the front of his head and a small wound that is treatable. You grab some alcohol wipes and some cottonballs to cleanse his slight head wound.
As you drag the chair over you try to be as carefully, and cautiously, quiet as possible. You have no idea how he'll react if he wakes up with a woman such as yourself cleaning his head wound. Luckily for you he was out cold, and as you got closer to him, you noticed he was handsome in many ways. Your mouth began feeling a gentle smile tug at the corner of your lips as you observe this man not being able to believe how stunning he was up close. Slowly, you took off his hat and gently tucked his hair out of sight so you can see the cut easier. And with that you tenderly blot the wound with the alcohol wipe, trying not to wake the man who looked fairly peaceful. You gazed of into the sight of his beautiful face, a face you had never seen at least in a while, look so pure and well kept.
You zoned back into what you were doing and started wiping the blood off his face, and as you turn around for just slightest second to grab a bandage you turned around and boom... he was awake immediately which had you wondering IF he was even asleep. You sat there stuttering, "Wha... wait I thoug... you were out cold. How did you just... wake up?! What?" The man had a smile streaming across his face, he had a precious and gorgeous smile that could make any woman weak in the knees, and he sat up asking, "Do you have anything for headaches? My head is killing me." Your eyes grew wider as you handed him the Ibuprofen and some water as he thanked you. You sat down with the bandage asking, "You have a uh... small cut on your head. I've been tending to you since you got here. What's your name?" After swallowing the two pills he sat the cup down on the counter and softly spoke, "My name is Paul, but my friends use to call me Jesus." You thought to yourself, "Jesus? Like Jesus Christ or just a nickname?" You showed off a small grin and he asked the same question in return. You looked at him directly into his bright, blue eyes and eyes like you have never seen before. Your jaw almost dropped at the sight of how much you were attracted to him, but never thought about "love" in the apocalypse because you knew you were too busy for love, and on top of that, fighting off the dead wasn't exactly a romantic date. "(Y/N)... my name is (Y/N). Um, it's nice to meet you tough Jesus." You quickly finished bandaging his head and handed his hat back to him, and as you stood up you leaned up against the end of his bed and said, "Oh, and um, because of your slight injury it might be best to stay here a day or so. Just til' you heal up and Rick and Daryl want to talk to you about some things in the morning. They also wanted me to stay the night here just in case you were to try anything or to leave, and I need to protect my group so I suppose I'll be your roommate for the night." He leaned up on the side of the bed abruptly moving slightly closer to your face close enough to see all the details in his bright eyes and said, "Thanks, I'll manage to talk to them in the morning then be on my way. I have business elsewhere to take care of. "Goodnight (Y/N). Thanks again for caring for me." He shot a big smile in your direction, and your cheeks began to feel red hot sending him an even bigger smile back his way, and you lay down to sleep with your final words before falling asleep, "Goodnight, Jesus."
As you drifted off slowly in your sleep you were beginning to wonder if this was someone who you could actually, and possibly, trust and get along with happily for the first time in forever since the beginning of all the chaotic outbreak. He didn't even judge you, and the way Jesus looked at you into your (E/C) eyes was oddly familiar to how your ex-boyfriend looked at you before he was taken by walkers. You had a slight moment where you missed your last relationship, but were beginning to think it's time to find someone again... and maybe this stranger was that person you could share that with in due time. This stranger you know now as Jesus.
