Sierra had been begging Whitney for months about going to the new store, "Potions and Brews" with her. "No!" Whitney shouted, "I'm not going to that dumb store full of rip - offs with you!" Whitney went in there once without Sierra, and hated it. it was full of fake wands that just smelled like plastic, potions that I swear smelled like Gatoraid, and little hamsters to cast "spells" on. although Whitney never told Sierra about going into the God awful store, Sierra always knew Whitney would hate it. Whitney was known for reading her science - fiction novels; not to mention that year she went to science camp in 6th grade. "Please Whitney! your going to that fancy new private school for only the smart nerds, and i'm going to the same old high middle school that my family has been going to for generations!" Sierra ranted. "and you wouldn't wanna break the tradition, now would you?" Whitney said with a smirk. "please?" Sierra wimped. "just this one time before we go out separate ways?" "why don't we go to "End of Summer" carnival like we do every year?" asked Whitney. "its not the same without Brina.." Sierra sighed. Sierra, Whitney, and Brina had been best friends since kindergarden. one play date after another. Sadly, Brina died from a heart attack from being stressed out during finals of 7th grade. the girls were in great pain, while Whitney somehow recovered, Sierra's heart was harder to sew back together. she was out for 2 weeks because of Brina's death. but the Funneral only made it worse. but Whitney was glad she got to say a few words. "Sabrina Ashton Chiller.. a beautiful soul. friends with many, but only close to few. me and my dear friend, Sierra, are glad to say that we were one of the close. before she died, she forgot her Friendship bracelet I got her at my house, that I kept until I saw her next. sadly, that day never came, since I was sick during finals. I am so grateful for the Chiller family letting me have her bracelet, and may Sabrina rest in peace."
it was a difficult time for the girls. but they thankfully moved on. Whitney still wears Brina's bracelet everyday. Whitney thought long and hard about the question Sierra had been asking for so long. "So what do you say? Can we go to the store? please?!" Sierra begged. "Fine.. but only because ill miss you." Whitney said. "Yay!" Sierra cheered. "Lets hurry before they sell out of potions!" "you mean gatoraid?"
