This December Heat?
The last month of the year
Comes with unbearable heat,
Truly ending the year with a bang
As my ice cream hangs on the cone with defeat.
This thermo isn't alone as it's attacking,
It's companion is the fuckin lightening
And goddammittt it's frightening.
The course this poem has taken has me laughing
And it's too soon to end it
But I won't sweat it
Since I've already ruined it
So I'll just go take a seat
And admit to defeat.
