Like the Spies in the Movies

Persephone gave me side long glances all during the movie. I was sitting next to Isaac, who was blissfully oblivious to Persephone, sipping his coke and eating pocorn by the handful. I sighed and wished Persephone would stop. I tried to focus on the movie that we hadn't even planned to come watch until Isaac came over. It was a spy movie, with a lot of sneaking through ventilation ducts and futuristic spy equipment.

Persephone seemed to think she was like those spies and was determined to find out if it was Isaac. When the movie got out and we were walking, Persephone decided to interegate Isaac.

"So, where were you this morning?" She asked, trying to be casual, but failing miserably.

 "Um...at my house?"

 "You seem unsure..."

Isaac looked at me for support. I just shrugged.

"Did you come over to Belle's house before we invited you to the movie today?" Persephone asked and raised her eyebrows.

"Many times. I do live by her." Isaac rolled his eyes.

 "No, I mean today."

"No. What's with all the questions?"

"Oh, no reason..." Persephone trailed off. Then she made eye contact with me and tried to wink slyly. She failed terribly.

I sighed and put my face into my hands. "Let's just go get some food."

Between Persephone and Isaac, eating was a disaster. Isaac had no manners whatsoever, and Persephone was a manners freak. Needless to say, they didn't get along.

"Ew, you are disgusting!" Persephone squealed.

Isaac smiled...with food in his mouth. I just about barfed. "Honestly? Come on guys!"

"What?" Isaac asked innocently, swallowing his food before taking another huge bite. "I'm just playing around."

Persephone punched him. Hard. "Stop it!"

Isaac rubbed his shoulder. "Ouch, alright already."

I rolled my eyes. If I didn't know my best friends didn't hate eachother so much, I'd think they were flirting. "So, how's life Zach?"

"Zach?" Isaac rolled his eyes. "Is it that difficult to say the 'I'?"

"Yes," I said. "yes it is."

 He glared at me.

"Fine!" I sighed. "Hercules, you need to get a sense of humor."

Persephone giggled. "I think Wal-mart is having a sale."

"Seriously guys?" Isaac said. "You haven't grown up since third grade, have you?"

"Where's the fun in that?" I laughed.

"Speaking of third grade..." Persephone began.

 "Seph....." I warned.

She grinned. "Remember when you gave me that secret admirer valentine?"

Isaac blushed. "Yes. If you'd kindly stop reminding me-"

"Have you done anything like that since?"

"No! I learned my lesson. I don't leave notes." He shuddered. "I'd never make that mistake again."

I laughed. Partially remembering the valentine incident, and partially that Persephone had been wrong. Now who could this Not-so-secret Admirer possibly be?
