It had been two days since the song incident and HABIT was, safe to say, more mellow than usual. Still as sarcastic as ever, especially with the nurses and doctors that visited him or watched over him at every hour of the day, but less aggressive. He just didn't feel like being overly aggressive with the other kids or doctors- because that then meant that he would once again be alone and banned from socialising until the staff saw fit. They said it was 'for his own safety' when HABIT himself knew differently; it was mostly so they could have more time to question or observe him to find out what was really going on inside his head. A scoff fell from his lips at the thought, they seriously continued to think they could fix him. With their dull medications and cutting questions. Amusing, if anything.
Currently, HABIT was sitting in the canteen area of Fairmount- it was lunchtime. The children were expected to sit together or at least in the same room, and socialise. Humans were fundamentally social creatures; they relied on interaction to keep them sane. HABIT didn't really require it like humans did, but it was nice once in a while to talk to someone that didn't use that patronising clinical tone with him. Or ask questions that he really never wanted to answer.
"Hello, HABIT. Is it alright that I sit with you?" A familiar voice pulled him from his thoughts, and in return HABIT gave a little grin,
"What, no one else to sit with?" He teased lightly, knowing full well that Patrick simply just wanted to talk with him. They were friends, well, acquaintances. HABIT didn't know him very well yet, but would quite like to get to understand him better. In cold places, friends tend to make life bearable.
Patrick rolled his eyes and sat down opposite the shorter male at the table, two cups of coffee in his hands," Oh ha. No, you're just much more fun to be around." He mused truthfully, much to HABIT's amusement. The dark haired male gave a chuckle as Patrick passed him a coffee and a little smile plastered itself onto his lips. Hell this kid was out to kill him, huh?
"Heh, thanks." The teenager responded, "Not often I get people willingly hanging out with me."
"I could imagine." Patrick jested, but he seemed hesitant. As if he was worried about offending him. HABIT raised an eyebrow and simply took a sip of the coffee Patrick had given him, and leaned back in his chair. Dark eyes observing the blonde other,
"Ooh, spitfire." HABIT retorted, a grin settling on his lips as Patrick took a sip of the hot liquid in the mug settled neatly in his hands. The taller other simply shrugged in response and gave a little smile as he indulged in the bone-warming drink. Certainly intriguing; the chaotic other supposed, maybe this Patrick boy was much more than he first came off to be. HABIT's dark eyes glimmered with mischief, that was their default, as they scanned the other male's face. Part of him was simply waiting for Patrick to get up and leave, or start a fight. Part of him thought it was a joke or a dare, that same twisted part of him tried to convince the rational side that Patrick was going to make a complete fool out of him. The rational side knew better, however. Funny how HABIT even told himself to shut the fuck up sometimes.
Patrick had noticed the other's stare, and felt slightly embarrassed; uncomfortable. How else was he supposed to feel when he was being observed so intently by the kid everyone was terrified of? Clearing his throat, the blonde other gave a nervous smile," Is there something on my face or have you just zoned out?" He questioned, much to HABIT's amusement. HABIT rested his arms on the table and chuckled, a child-like smile tugging at his lips,
"Nope, I guess I was just thinkin' about how interesting you are. I mean, you've been nice to be and not many people are. That's pretty fuckin' interesting."
