Prologue: Part One

Three weeks earlier

Yugi Muto looked at the roof of his bedroom, and sighing, reflecting on his life. How many years have it been?, he thought.

It's been three years since the whole journey that changed his life forever. Fighting Pegasus to save the souls of his grandpa, his rival, Seto Kaiba, and his brother, Mokuba Kaiba, and was named the King of Games. Fighting and defeating Yami Mairk to save the world and freeing the Good Mairk Ishtar from his evil self. Fighting for his body at the Virtual World and helping Noah Kaiba to see the errors his ways, though Mokuba mostly helped him. Sacrificing his own soul in order to save his closest, dear friend and helped him to fight the darkness in his heart. Dueling Yami Bakura in order to find out his friend's long, lost name. Last but not least, finding out his dearest friend's long lost memories and his true name, and then Dueling him in order to save him and rest in peace in the afterlife.

Thinking about the last the part and the last Duel, Yugi shed a tear and smiled a sad smile as he remembered just about a month ago, when Diva Agami nearly destroyed the world, making people disappearing, and nearly killing Yugi. Then, a bright ray of light and hope appeared and, taking over for him was his dearest, close friend: Pharaoh Atem. Not only he saved the world and Agami, but Yugi also get to see Atem on more time, before the Pharaoh went back to the afterlife.

The reunion between both King of Games was short but sweet as if they've only been sperated for a month, instead of three years. Even though it was bittersweet, Yugi was happy, and always remember to always believe in the Heart of the Cards, both his and Atem's sakes.

Shortly after that, Tèa Gardner left to New York. However it was only been a month before Yugi and the rest eventually learned that Tèa was lying about their bond of friendship, and shortly after learning, they all completely cut her out of their lives and shunned her for good.

Even Joey Wheeler admitted that he take everything back for comforting her after learning that Atem went to the afterlife. So, Yugi now has Joey Wheeler, Tristen Taylor, Ryou Bakura, Duke Devlin, Serenity Wheeler, Mai Valentine, Rebecca Hawkins, Seto Kaiba, Mokuba Kaiba, the Ishtar siblings, Rafael, Valon, and Allistor.

Grabbing the box when he first received it that had the scattered golden pieces of the Millennium Puzzle, Yugi just stared at it, staring at the box. Suddenly remembering about after Atem's Tomb collapsing completely after Atem departed to the afterlife.

Yugi was going to give it to Mairk, but he, Ishizu and Odion tells Yugi that he should keep it forever as a sign of a deep friendship that he had with the Pharaoh. Since then, Yugi has been keeping his Deck inside the ancient, golden box for all these years.

Yugi suddenly held it tightly as he shook when he suddenly remembers of the time when Tèa sent him a letter, telling him that not only she lied about the bond of friendship, but she also told him to get rid of the Egyptian Box. Once his grandpa, Solomon Muto, and the rest had read the note, they went blesktic, especially Kaiba and Rafael.

Shaking the unpleasant memory away, Yugi looked at the window and suddenly gasped.

"That's strange, that wasn't like that before" Yugi said as he saw the sky turning dark with dark grey clouds.

Jumping out of bed, Yugi was about to walk out when he noticed the box was glowing bright gold, and the inside was glowing bright white. Quickly putting it on his bed, Yugi opened the box, grabbed his Deck and gasped.

Dark Magician, Yugi's Ace Monster, was glowing brightly. Just about the teen was going to saw something, the box glowed so bright that it nearly blinded Yugi's amythest purple eyes. When glow died down, Yugi, suddenly having a bad feeling, found himself grabbing a golden object. He gasped loudly that he dropped it on his bed. It was the Millennium Puzzle! The real one!
