Avengers x Male Reader

Steve- Overprotective

—when Steve becomes overprotective of you—

You were side by side with the Avengers. You were brought to the Avengers by Nick Fury, because you had not only brains, but you had the power of teleportation and you're able to shape shift. You rarely used your powers because you never needed to. You were currently fighting against Ultron.

"(y/n), go grab all the people and take them to safety" Tony said. You nodded and and teleported to where there was way more danger. The bots start to come at you. You grab out your gun and start to shoot, but as you did, you saw the very well known shield of Captain America hit three of the boys that were coming at you.

"Are you alright (y/n)?" Cap asked.

"I-I had it Cap" you said, kind of aggravated.

"I just want to protect yo-"
You shot the bot that happened to come towards Steve, interrupting him.

"Pretty sure I'm fine Cap" you puffed, grabbing seven of the injured people and teleporting then to S.H.I.E.L.D's ship. You saw Pietro speed up beside you with a few children.

"You ok? You look distressed (y/n)" he smiles cheekily. You only chuckled and looked at him.

"Just Cap being overprotective" you said. He only laughed and patted your back.

"I feel sorry for you" he smiled, speeding away again. You only sighed and teleported to the other injured people and teleported again and again. Just as you were about to teleport to the Avengers, a bot grabbed your arm and threw you to the wall. You picked yourself up and and shot at the bot.

"Shit!" You yelled, hitting the bot and kicking him to the wall. It starts to shoot at you, but as you tried to move, a large figure stood in front of you. Captain fucking America. He held the shield in front of himself and you and he threw the shield at it.

"Go!" He yelled. You teleported to Clint and saw him holding a child, staring back at Pietro.

You look at Pietro and tears spill from your eyes. Your best friend, Wanda's brother, dead in front of you.

"C-Clint are you ok?" You ask him. He looked at you and nodded slowly.

Cap went back to Clint and you went away to patch up your wounds. Which were only a few scrapes and a bullet wound in the forearm. And yet again Cap won't leave you alone. You have had a crush on him for a while, but protecting you the whole time during the battle, annoyed you.

"Are you alright (y/n)?" He asked.

"Yes, Steve I am fine" You huffed.

"Is something wrong?" He asked.

"You're just so over-protective! I try to fight and you always go ahead and fight my battles! I-it get annoying because I'm trying to impress you Avengers and you make it really hard" you groaned. He stood there and looked at you.

"I'm sorry I didn't realise" he mumbled. He took of his helmet and messed up his blond locks and chuckled.

"I just wanted to protect you. I knew you were capable of fighting your battles, but, but if something happened to you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself" he said. You were confused, you didn't exactly know what he meant.

"What do you mean 'if something happened to me, you wouldn't live with yourself'. I'm confused Cap" you said.

He walked closer towards you, and cupped your cheek.

"I mean, I couldn't live with myself, knowing the person I love died" he said. You blushed and held his hand which was cupping your cheek. He leaned in and kissed you lightly, that son of a gun.

"Real smooth Steve" you laughed. He chuckled as well and you both go back with the other Avengers. The battle was done. You saw Wanda in the corner of your eye, her eyes filled with a grey shadow, numb. You went to her and comforted her.

"(y/n), are you ok?" She asked.

"I could ask you the same thing" you said. She smiled at you and tears started creeping back up in her eyes.

"He's gone. (y/n), I can't believe it. I want him back" she said. You nodded.

"I do too" you said empathetically. Steve stood beside you and pulled you close by the waist. You looked up at him and smiled, and he looked down and smiled back at you.

"So what is this Capcicle? You and (y/n) are a thing now?" Tony said. Nat, Clint, and Wanda looked at the two of you.

"I guess you could say that" you said, your face turning red.
