Mochi gasps in pure horror. She finally frees herself from her little act of being oblivious and getting easily angered over everything they talked over. "NO! No, you're not the culprit!" She didn't hesitate to move at all. Dropping Kaito's cloak, she seizes what was hidden in her back pocket all along- a gleaming, precious silver knife, sharper than the sharpest rose thorn one could ever find and encounter. She dashes over to him, her heels clacking loudly. She grabs the arm-less sleeve of his shirt and roughly pulls him in closer. The piercing blade was aiming for Kaito's heart. She must kill him- so that she will look like the culprit, and not him. She had it. She can eliminate him, once and for all. He was right in front of her, and her knife was right in front of his chest.
That is, until...
The sapphire-haired man stopped the young woman in her tracks, much to her fury and dismay. Kaito grabs Mochi's wrist, and flicks her knife away from her. Mochi's last resort was taken away from her in a blink of an eye. The knife clashed onto the floor, a few feet away from the two.
"No!!" Mochi screams, trying to use her free hand to reach for her only item for self-defense, desperately wanting to snatch it and seize it back. But then, Kaito roughly wraps his arm around the feisty lady's back, and pulls her in. Their noses were nearly touching. They could feel each other's breaths. Mochi's eyes widen in surprise, realizing how little the distance was between them. Kaito's eyes were still red, but he no longer looks like a psychopath. His signature, trademark smirk of mischief was still plastered on his face, though. He truly did have strength, for someone with only one arm.
"After everything ended, you, my darling, arrived here, hiding that knife."
Kaito knew Mochi had that weapon hidden and was ready to utilize it at any time. It was a piece of cake to defend himself in such a swift manner. He pulls away from her and goes to pick up the knife.
"Y-You..you knew?! How?!" Mochi hollers as she demands an answer, and reasons as to why Kaito is doing all this.
Mochi's knife now in his possession, he tightly grasps the knife in his hands and walks back over to the bewildered, baffled young woman. He closes nearly all the distance between them as he stares into her eyes, blade in hand. Mochi could've defended herself right there, but she was too frightened to move a single muscle, she just froze. All she could do was feel Kaito's moist breath and stare into his gleaming, blood-red eyes.
"Hmm...how forlorn, how wretched that things just had to turn out this way. I'm sorry, Mochi. It's really too bad. Now, I wonder, what shall I do with this knife? Should I use it on a pitiful girl like you...? Should I pour you a glass of wine and have you poisoned as well?"
Kaito gently brushes the side of the knife against Mochi's cheek. The ever-so-smooth, dull side of the blade caressed the young lady's fair, soft skin. Every last movement caused icy-cold shivers to slither down the young lady's spine. He trailed the knife down to her neck, throat, then to her chest at a leisurely pace until it reached where her heart was. He rotates the knife, now with the very finely pointed tip facing her heart. The spiky extremity gleamed brightly, and he was ready to pierce the knife into her at any moment. Mochi's eyes fly up even wider as her heart races in fear and despair, defenseless. She has an advantage to attack Kaito if she wanted to, but her arms were practically frozen in time. She couldn't get them to move. She can't move them. She's too intimidated to even blink her eyes. As if she was a statue, or an immobilized human being. She was now captured and nothing could be done. The man in front of her licks his lips playfully, as if thirsty for blood.
"N-no..stop..please, don't do this, Kaito..!" Mochi speaks up in a timid voice tone that was nothing like her usual cold, dead-serious one. Her demeanor has transformed completely. She couldn't help but feel nervous around Kaito. After all...he is the one in front of her. It may seem like it, but it's not pure hatred she feels towards him...
Kaito narrows his eyes and demands under gritted teeth, "Then give me your answers to my riddles. I want to solve these mysteries with you."
The young girl nods and slowly backs away from the knife. What happens now, may or may not affect the true ending of this story...
