Being replaced (short story)

Chapter 2

I started the engine and drove to the mall. Before getting there i stoped at a cafe to get breakfast for me and my friend.

ME TO: BEST-FRIEND
"Do NOT eat until i get there"

I got both of us croissants and lemonade for me and for my friend a cup of cappuccino. I paid for everything, went to the car and headed to the mall.

I got there in less than ten minutes and walked to the food court where my friend was. When i was approaching the big fountain that was right in the middle of the food court i see this not so tall guy on his phone, wearing a pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt, he also had sunglasses resting on his head, he looked nice on that outfit.

"HEY! JAYY!" I said to him

"Hey! Finally you get here i am so hungry and you're-not letting me eat" Jackson said while hugging me.

"Oh come on, you know that the food here is expensive soooo I bought breakfast" i said smiling.

"Croissants!" He said like a kid opening up a Christmas present

I am glad he liked my decision

I've known him since seventh grade and now we are almost seniors, but started to being friends about a year and a half now.

"Why you know me so much? We've been friends for like a year now and you know me so well, i fell bad because i sometimes forget your favorite color!" He said while opening up his croissant

"Ugh come on! You know i like to observe people! And you are very interesting" i said while laughing

"Oh, am i? How interesting am i?" He said while leaning in.

"Very" i said "but you're kinda ugly so i have to stop looking because of how disturbing you are" i lied a little he is very cute okay! His eyes are a hazelnut color, his face is so... and he works out so you can only imagine

When he heard me he leaned back and he shrugged his shoulders "i know i am ugly you don't have to remind me" he said while finishing his food

"You know i am joking right?" I said contemplating his facial expressions

"Yeah, but it sounds so real that i truly believe you.

"Jajajaja nooo don't believe me!" I said while laughing making him laugh... "let's go, SCHOOL SHOPPING" i said with fake enthusiasm making jack grunt with annoyance

We spent the whole day at the mall buying new backpacks and notebooks and pencils... in other words *school materials*

It was dark outside when we walked out of the mall "DAMN! We spent the hole day together" jack said in a low voice. I felt the urge to kiss him but I couldn't because i knew that it would be weird afterwards, at least thats what i think.

"Yeah it was nice... are you excited for tomorrow?" I said kinda changing a little bit the mood

"I guess i am, it's first day of junior year tomorrow" he said with a little bit of anxiety showing on his voice

"For both of us so don't worry about that, you will NOT be alone, plus we have the hole squad nervous as well, we won't be alone on this one" i said trying to reassure him that everything will be alright

"You exited too meet new kids?" He, with a grin on his face asked

"Uff i hope that a very hot guy appears so i can make my move!" I laughed while saying that

"You don't need a new hot guy to make your move..." he said "you have options at school" he looked at me, his eyes shining with the light of the moon

"You're right but you know i was joking with that, plus i am to shy to make a move.. and I  don't even HAVE a move" I laughed at that

Right when jack was about to say something his phone started ringing

"RING! RANG!"

"Hello"...... "yes, at the mall" ...... "with sam" ..... "no not football sam"....... "Samantha, sam" .... "ja ja ja very funny mom" ..... "yeah i was about to do that" ..... "oh" ...... "yep" ..... "don't worry mom I'll fix it" .... "you welcome, bye mom" .... "love you, bye"

"That was my mom, she had a minor car accident but the car now has to be fixed" he said while putting his arm around my shoulder and starting yo walk "where is your car?" He asked suddenly

"It's ooooveer there" i said pointing at it "it's very far you don't have to follow me there" I added quickly

"No but..." he tried to complain

"You, stay" I interrupted him "we will see each other tomorrow so don't worry" i hugged him and before letting go he kissed my cheek

"I love you" he said

"Of coarse you do, i'm Samantha Crawford who doesn't love me!" I joked, turned around and while i was walking to my car i started thinking if today... that made me smile like an idiot
