Mochi takes a deep breath as she tries to placate herself, soothing down her racing heart and the thoughts swarming rapidly inside her brain. She begins to question Kaito.

"...Was it truly you that poisoned the young man's glass of wine? Were you truly among this crime?"

One side of Kaito's lips curl, forming a half-smile. "Yes, it was me."

"Well...did you ever notice that there was a second glass of wine?"

For the first time, Kaito shows abrupt shock. His eyes widen and his eyebrows furrow. "You..what's that, you say? There was another one?"

She narrows her eyes at him, crossing her arms. "...I saw it all. While the man wasn't looking, you dropped the smallest drip of fatal, intoxicating poison into his beverage. During that time, he was socializing and enjoying himself with the other party guests, all the while serving himself another glass of wine, that of course, had no poison in it. You evaded the scene and ran away in time, successfully poisoning his original glass of wine before the man even got a chance to catch you red-handed. When the man returned, he drank the replacement, not the one you poisoned. And even if he were to drink the poisoned glass, I doubt he would die immediately from it. ...Do you know what the real cause of his death was?"

Before Kaito could utter an answer, Mochi snatches her knife away from him, retrieving her sole weapon.

"This mere knife. ...I sneaked up behind him, and stabbed him. "So, who is the culprit?", you ask? I have the answer."

 "The atrocious culprit..."

 "Is not you."

Kaito took a step back, shocked at the truth revealed to him. "You...you were the one behind his death?"

She twirls the knife around and around with her fingers, fidgeting with it as if it were a toy. "Yes, I was. And I am not letting this crime end the way you want it to. I am solving this riddle in your place." She stops fiddling with the knife, and looks up to face Kaito.

"Let me be the one to undo this rusted curse, the curse caused by this mean culprit."

He desperately tries to protest and go against her bold statement. "But mistre-"

"No! Don't you get it, Kaito? By "rusted", I mean, all of this wasn't supposed to happen, again! This crime has already happened before...and it may only come to a close if we both admit to our crimes. Willingly, without argument. But you don't want to. The culprit, the real culprit, is the one that caused us both to commit crimes and kill.

What's this? So...the culprit is neither Mochi, nor it is Kaito.

The real culprit...must be stopped immediately.
