The willows stood silent.
Children played and laughed in the boughs,
But the willows stood silent.
Heartfelt men pushed their plows,
But the willows stood silent.
Men where killed and blood was spilled,
But the willows stood silent.
Of all the frills of human wills,
The Willows will stand in silence.
