"You're okay?", he asked and Jack nodded, then smiled at him.

"Yeah, just haven't done this in a while"
His smile hid what he was feeling inside. Happiness because Brooklyn was so caring and he was the only one with him but somehow heartbroken already although the love story hadn't even started yet.

"Come on, we can walk but there's a place I want to show you."

They continued walking and Brook leaded them down a small path. Excitement boiled in Jack's veins. It seemed to be a special place to Brook but not in a sad way. More like he was happy here but could use a little company for the place to be complete. And he chose his best friend.
They had reached the old weeping willow.

The branches were hanging down and cleaned the ground with their tiny leaves. Brook took a few of them and built an entrance like this.

"Please come in", he said with a smile and let Jack enter the little cave of leaves that still left a window to the small lake the willow was at.

His heart was beating so loud, he was afraid Jack might hear it. He was nervous, didn't really know what to say or what to do now. He had made a plan but it was useless now that they were actually here.

"It's really beautiful here", Jack said and looked around, one hand touching the thick stock of the old tree.

The question why exactly Brook wanted to show him this place was running through his head but he pushed it into a corner of his mind.
It really was a pretty place, filled with peace and a romantic flair in the air.
Maybe it was the right time to tell him now...

"Jack Duff... You're my best friend, right?", Brook started his speech, not sure where it would lead.

Jack nodded slowly. He began to feel uncomfortable although he usually was the most relaxed when he was with Brooklyn. Around him he could completely be himself. Furthermore Brook probably wanted to talk about something that didn't even involve the Irish boy.

Brook noticed Jack's state and immediately interrupted his thoughts of preparing the next words.

"You're okay? Is there anything?"

Worry swung in his voice.

"No, no, go on please. I'm alright."

Jack relaxed a little, knowing that Brook cared for him.
"I don't really know how to start this, I've prepared something but all of these words don't seem enough."
He made a pause, then added quietly:
"And I forgot half of them again already..."

Jack laughed and the worries slowly faded away.

"Should not have said that...", Brook mumbled but also couldn't hold back a smile.

"Anyways", he sighed before continuing, "Jacky boy I really like you. And you mean the most to me, just like best friends do to each other, right?"

Before Jack's mind could properly start to analyse the words Brook just said, the blonde sweared quietly. He was beating around the bush.

"What is it, Brook?", Jack dared to ask, not sure whether he wanted to know the answer or just run because the words would hurt him.
