As I pulled my suitcase through the airport, I thought to myself.
'Why did all of this happen to me? Why am I moving away from my life in California? Why can't my life be normal?' I looked up towards the sky that was showing through the window on the ceiling.
"I miss you mom and dad." I whispered and held onto my mothers necklace that was wrapped around my neck.
"Emma May?" I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around and saw a woman about my moms age walking up to me.
"Hi." I said awkwardly. She gave me a sympathetic look and pulled me in for a hug. After she pulled away, she introduced herself.
"I'm Cristina. (Idk Matt's mom's name. Comment what it is? And no I'm not a new born 😑. Carry on.)
Your moms best friend since high school." She said with a sad smile. I nodded.
"It's nice to meet you, Christina." I tried my best to smile back. Then we started walking toward her car I'm guessing.
"So, tell me about yourself." She said once we got inside.
"Well, I'm 15. I will be a sophomore in high school when school starts back up. Ummmm. I love little tiny puppies. And I don't really know what else to say." I chuckled. She nodded.
"We have a dog. His name is Bernie. I wouldn't exactly call him little though." She smiled as I laughed for the first time.
"So what about you? Tell me about you." I smiled at her.
(A/N: btw Matt is an only child in this book.)
"Hmmm. I live with my son, Matthew. He is a little over a year older than you. He just turned 17 on July 7th. It's just me and him living in our house. His father left a couple years back. But yeah. We are both really fun and you will hopefully enjoy living with us." She said as we turned into a neighborhood. I gasped at how Huge the houses were. We pulled into a driveway of a really nice house, one of the nicest on the block as he rolled her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked worried that I did something wrong.
"Oh it's not you dear, Matthew has his friends over again. I told him not to when we got here." She shook her head and I chuckled as we got out of the car. I grabbed my stuff and rolled my suitcase behind me up the long driveway to the porch. Christina opened the door.
"Matthew we're home." She called. The house was so big that her voice echoed.
"In here mom!" I heard. We followed his voice and ended up in a room with a huge tv and a game console.
'Damn. These people are loadeddd.' I thought to myself.
"Matthew this is Emma May." I guess I zoned out but came back to life when my name was called. I waved.
"Zayum. Hey I'm Cameron!" One stood up and walked over to me, putting his hand out for me to shake. I do so and smile at him.
"Anyway." Matt glares at Cameron and chuckles. " I'm Matt. This is Nash, carter and Hayes." He says pointing at the other boys. Nash looks about 16 and Hayes looks 14ish cam looks a little older. 19 maybe?
"Are they brothers?" I ask pointing to Nash and Hayes. Nash laughs.
"Yep." He says as he ruffles Hayes' hair. I giggle.
"Well Emma may do you want to get settled in your room and I can call you Down for dinner?" Christina asked. I nodded and we walked up the spiral staircase to my new bedroom.
"Alright dear. Yell or any of us if you need anything." She smiles at me before turning around and going back down the staircase.
I start unpacking my first suitcase.
It's time for a new start. I hold my necklace one more time before unpacking again. A new start.

A/N: first chapter wasn't really good but trust me it gets better. I always suck at writing the first chapters for some reason. But anyway thanks for reading. Ilygsm.
