I wasn’t quite sure what to do, standing there awkwardly with Seth in wolf form. I shifted from foot to foot, “Are you gonna…… I don’t know, go all human?” I looked down unsure how to approach it. I was trying to recall all those stupid books I ever read but was drawing a blank.

I looked up to see him nod his head.

“So….umm,” I paused half waiting, half thinking when a thought occurred. “Oh! Do you need clothes?”

He let out a soft bark that sounded like a chuckle and nodded his head.

“Wait here.” I jogged up the stairs and came back down a few moments later. The best I had for him was a pair of overly large basketball shorts that I often slept in and a large t-shirt. I was jogging back down the stairs and as I was nearing the bottom I looked up and I jumped, sliding down the last few steps.

Seth’s wolf jumped up and walked to my side.

“Shit, I don’t know if I can get used to your wolf. I’m fine,” I said scooting away from him and getting up. I stuck out the hand that had the clothes in it.

His purple eyes stared at me before gently grabbing the clothes in his mouth.

“I’ll be in there,” I pointed to the kitchen,” when you’re done.” And with that I walked off.

I was pacing up and down the kitchen floor when I heard him walk in.

“You know if you keep that up you won’t have nails left.” He walked over and grabbed my hand from my mouth.

I snatched my hand away, still a bit uncomfortable with the situation, but instantly feeling guilty when I saw the hurt look on his face.

He stepped away and sat down at the table.

I couldn’t tear my eyes away from his bare chest. It was beyond distracting.

Seth must have caught my stare because he said, “The shirt didn’t fit.” And shrugged.

I went back to pacing and biting my nails.

Seth heaved a heavy sigh. “Where do you need me to start?”

Pausing from my pacing I looked up and said, “You are a werewolf?” The word felt weird on my tongue, heck the whole sentence did.

“Well, no. I am a lycan. It is more or less a werewolf.” He shrugged.

“How?”

“It’s in my blood. It’s a bit fuzzy to everyone how the whole thing got started and the stories will vary on who you answer. All I know is my parents were lycans, so now I am too. The whole thing about biting is true, but it has to be done by an alpha or things could be painful.”

“An alpha is a leader. Correct?” I was trying to go off of what I was finally remembering from the books I’ve read.

“Yes and they are also very handsome.” He straightened up and gave a little smirk.

I had to let out a laugh, but it sounded a bit unsteady and nervous. “Are you one?”

“Alpha of the Black Night pack.”
