Chapter 1

  Overpopulation had always been a problem across the world, when the resources got scarce the government decided to impose a mandatory law to combat this phenomenon. The law was simple "One-child" per family. However, the unintended consequences of such policy where something nobody could have foreseen. Families were getting tested to see if the sex of their child was male or female, if such result was the latter they would abort the fetus. As this "One-child" generation grew into their adulthood the problem of sex ratio grew. The few families who decided to have female offspring came to regret their option early on. Young females who were part of this generation where under constant threat of danger. The wealthy youngsters of this bureaucrat society where willing to pay almost anything to get ahold of this woman to ensure the passing of their genes and legacy.
Jimin's father and mother had warned people about the tragic consequences in messing with mother nature's fate. They didn't obey the policy instead decided to birth a boy and a girl in an act of defiance. In doing so, they had sealed their own demise.
"Jimin, brother listen to me I can't live this life. Every time, I turn around I fear the I will get killed, kidnapped, or even worst rape please understand. I feel like a bird that's cage up all her life. I just want to stop feeling dead inside" said Jasmine holding the gun to her head and crying loudly. Jimin, was trying to keep her quiet he was afraid somebody might hear them and find out about her existence.
"Please, don't do this sister. I promise you there is freedom." said Jimin in a cracking voice and holding out his hand to his sister.
Jasmine was shaking she wanted to believe her brothers words, however she knew they were empty. Almost as empty as her life felt. The door started getting knocked loudly it was the police her brother turned around to face the door.
She knew she had to do it there before they came in. Without a second thought she pointed the gun in her forehead and pulled the trigger.
Her body fell down the ground with a loud thud.
As Jimin stood frozen staring at his sister lifeless body laid down on the ground, he was apprehended shortly. He tried fighting them off to get to her sister's side one last time.
"Please" he begged as they kept holding him back. He just wanted to say his last goodbye his sister. He knew he would be executed regardless. There were no trial and jury in their system if the police decided to arrest you were set to die.
The police officer sighted.
"You piece of scum. Do you real think you will get the any mercy from us! you just killed an endanger female. Don't you think for a moment we will just kill you off, there are worst things than death. You are about to find out" said the police officer getting his baton and knocking it on Jimin's head making him immediately go unconscious.
