Just wanting the pain to go away. You amble around and don’t seem to be able to get a grasp on this thing called life. Nothing in your life was going right and it seemed no one wanted to help you or be by your side. You had no relationships and you just wanted to crawl into a dark hole. Walking down the sidewalk one day an idea pops into your head.
You take a breath and close your eyes. Extending a foot you step out onto the street. Putting your weight on your foot just to have it pulled away. You opened your eyes to see the bus just pass in front of you. The passengers on the bus stare at you, judging. You grit your teeth and turn to the person who pulled you back. When you look into his near puppy blue eyes your heart can’t help but melt a little. “Why did you do that?” You ask to his near confused face. “Why did you want to kill yourself?” “I can’t take the pain of this world anymore.”
You realize he’s still holding your hand and you see the cuts on his face. “I see you can relate.” He straightens up a little and looks you in the eyes, “but I want to live.” “Why?” He puts his other hand on your shoulder. “Just because you’re in a bad time now it doesn’t mean your life will continue down this path. Life is worth living and I’ll take the pain and the joy of this world over everything else.”
You look into his eyes, “you say that but no one has ever been there for me.” He tilts his head slightly, “I suggest you find new friends. Because there are kind people out there in the world who are willing to help. I’ve seen them and know a few.” He pulls you to him and wraps his arms around you in a tight hug. “Just don’t give up on me. Things will get better I promise. Keep your head held high and carry on. Don’t let the little things get you down because in the grand scheme of things, they don’t matter.”
You cry a little on his shoulder then look up at him. “Can I ask who my savior is?” He smiles a little, “Castiel.” His arms loosen around you, “well Castiel I want to thank you and I hope your rough path will be ending as well.” You point to the scars on his face. “Yes I know they will.” You start walking away from him on the sidewalk. After a few feet you turn around and look at the man in the red hoodie that saved your life. You smile and turn to continue walking and whisper, “my guardian angel.”
