I had my arms wrapped around Liv as she told the story. It was such a hard day for the both of us. I was worried she wouldn't like to call me Mom any more since she found out the truth about her family.
"That's quite a story." Norman said to break the silence and I couldn't agree more. It was a story that would render everyone speechless every time it's explained. I just hope now that Olivia gets more of a chance to be a normal teenager, I need to let go of the reins slightly and let her be herself with friends surrounding her. Not holding her back like I have been.
"I just wanted her to be able to be a normal teenager. That's all I want for her and I couldn't do that when no one knew of her." I explained to everyone.
"Well, now we know about her, she's become our family. She may not becoming a normal teenager, but she's becoming the newest member of the Walking Dead family." Andy said and everyone laughed. I sat on a stool and she came to sit next to me.
"I like being a family member. I've never had anyone but my Mom and I am looking forward to knowing my extended family." Liv said and I smiled. "Stevie, can you come up to my room? I want to talk to you about something."
"Why can't you talk to me?" I asked her and she shrugged.
"It's a thing only a boy would understand." She said. and hopped down and followed Steven up the stairs to her room. I looked at everyone else and they all chuckled slightly.
"Let's go sit in the living room. Get more comfortable." I said and we all made our way into the living room where we sat together and talked while the other two were up stairs in Liv's room.
"So Lauren, I just wanted to ask if you wouldn't mind bringing her to set next week. We have a convention and I was thinking that maybe she'll meet some new friends to hang out with. Of course, we'll keep your name out of it so they don't try to use her." Melissa asked me and I nodded.
"I'll have to ask Liv but yeah, I think that's a good idea. She'd love to be on set, she's always talking about it." I said and we continued to talk a while longer and there was still no sign of Steven and Olivia.
They had been upstairs for a long time and I couldn't figure out what it was they were doing, it must be important though because Steven would never dream of being this unsociable. I just didn't know what and it was annoying me, I need to know what they were doing. I didn't know whether I liked Steven and Olivia being so close, she would prefer to speak to him than to me and it made me feel useless.
It wasn't much later when Steven emerged into the living room but Liv wasn't with him. He sat next to me and I turned to him. "Where's Liv?" I asked him and he smiled at me and it only made me want to hit him.
"She'll be down now, she just has to finish doing something." He told me with a smirk and I glared at him but before I could say anything else, Liv walked in and came to squeeze herself between me and Steven.
"You okay?" I asked her and she nodded at me.
"I just wanted to make this for you." She told me and handed me a object wrapped in purple tissue paper. I unwrapped it and it was a clay figure of me and her. It was easy to identify, she had painted the figure, he blonde locks were obvious and my short brown hair was noticeable. Underneath she had a small plaque with our names on them and I smiled at her.
"Thank you baby. I love it." I told her and she smiled.
"Steven and I have been working on this for weeks, I wanted to finish it today so we were up there for longer than expected. I just wanted to show you how much I appreciate you and even though you aren't my real Mom, you'll always be the only Mom that matters to me." She explained and I kissed her forehead.
"I love you so much." I whispered in her ear and she snuggled into me.
"I'm glad they know about you now Liv, Welcome to the family."
