Chapter 2: Sidewalk Chalk💛

(LILLIAN POV)

the boy's mouth hung open as he gaped at me, looking first from me, to the hole I had drawn, then back to me.

"Ooohh so your a pavement chalk artist!" he said, looking highly interested. I shook my head, smiling.

"I'm a sidewalk chalk artist." I corrected. He frowned.

"Pavement, sidewalk, same difference. You Americans have weird words for things." I snorted, rather I attractively. I inwardly smacked myself.

"Nope. It's the other way around, mister...."

"Tomlinson. But refer to me as Louis." he said, in a mockingly posh accent that made me erupt into laughter again.

"you have an extremely cute laugh." he told me, and I immediately reddened.

"Umm, thanks." I smiled. There was a slightly awkward silence before I said,

"So, what brings you to LA? Your obviously not from around here." he gasped in mock surprise.

"How did you guess?" He cried, and I laughed again. He was really funny!

"Well, for one, your accent. Pure and utter British. And second, your wearing a headset thingie which means your a performer. And all our performers today are from somewhere other from the states." I said. He raised an eyebrow.

"Woooow. Your a smart a$$!" he cried, before clapping a hand over his mouth. "Sorry..." he apologized, looking weary of my reply. I shrugged, still grinning.

"Whatever. It's all good." I replied. He looked relieved, and impressed. Shooting me a grin, he gestured to the sidewalk.

"So, how much money do you make for this?" He asked. I shrugged, replying,

"I don't really make money off it. I have a tip jar over there, but hardly anyone ever leaves anything. I work in a car shop, fixing up stuff people broke on their cars. I don't like that job that much though, so I come here whenever there's an event and I draw. Is it any good?" I asked, eagerly awaiting his answer. He adjusted his baseball cap, which was tugged halfway over his eyes.

"Any good? It's phenomenal, love!" I blushed a little when he called me love. It's a regular British thing I guess, but it's still extremely sweet. I smiled and he grinned back.
