Clara felt uneasy as she slowly made her way to her next class. See, she would normally have been thrilled to be in another class for the day and not dreading lunch but the thing was Clara's next class was PE, or Physical Education.
Even though Clara never really enjoyed PE as much as the other kids she always found it was a good way to exercise throughout her day. The PE lesson was not like the others. This lesson they were doing to dreaded year 11 Baby Project not only was Clara going to have to look after a robotic doll that was designed to make sure that her generation wouldn't want to reproduce, but she had to partner up with someone of the opposite gender.
Two things that she was highly distressed about.
1. Partnering up with someone is a big problem. Socialise for Clara only spelt out one word... Embarrassment. Of course, socialisation was key for a humans life but Clara only socialise with her two parents, whom were never home and when they were the only had time for small talk. Which was perfect for Clara and her nurse, and confident, was the closest thing she had to a friend and that's just the way she liked it.
2. The opposite gender. Boys. She couldn't stand them they were smelly, sweaty and downright rude and disrespectful. Clara was always mindful of one boy in-particular. The most popular guy in the whole school ... Harrison. But hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with that.
She entered the class to find that she was the first one there... Not surprising. She was always the first for all of her classes and she prided herself on that.
Slowly one by one the other students filed in and after about ten minutes Mr Jopei,or Mr J. Walked in. With his usual glassy eyed look. The hole class started to ask boring questions, all of which Clara knew the answer to.
Q. Are we going to have to watch a video on when a woman gives birth?
A. Yes, we are
Q. How long does it go for?
A. 15min approx.
Q. Are we starting the project today?
A. Yes
Q. Do we get to choose our partners for the project?
A. No
After all of the stupid unessesary questions were asked the whole class braced themselves for the "miracle" of child birth.
The voice-over reminded Clara of David Attenborough except someone who had smoked a pack-a-day, talked in a monotone constantly and had no personality at all voice.
"And now the mother has been induced, therefore her baby....." The boring narrator continued.
Clara quickly glanced around the room and assumed that most people in the room were about to puke at the sight of a woman's private area. A few people had decided that they had better things to do....
The cheerleaders and their jock boyfriends. Especially Madelyn Estair and her fake boyfriend Harrison O'reilly. Both fine specimens on how the school food chain works, both athletic and both head of the pack. Why wouldn't they be?
Madelyn was a blonde hair, blue eyed beauty who was captain of the cheerleaders and the most disrespectful, rude and obnoxious Daddy's little princess there ever was. She was one of those people who got whatever she wanted on a silver platter. She had the latest and greatest things delivered to her and she loved it that way.
Harrison was exactly the same. Except he was head over heels in love with Madelyn and would do anything and everything for her. Madelyn wasn't like that. She didn't want anything to do with him becuase, rumour has it that, she had actually "hooked up" with the boy next door. No surprises there.
