prequel - first year

"Rem I'm scared." I said whilst grabbing a hold of his hand with my left, using my right to push my glasses further up my nose. It was the first of September 1971 and him and I stood on platform 9 and ¾ in front of our parents.

"We'll be fine, that's what mother and father said," he responded reassuringly.

I shivered slightly turning towards him and whispered, "you weren't fine that night."

"Well, we don't talk about that night."

Forcing a smile. I pulled away from his grasp on my hand giving each my mother and father a goodbye until we would see them for the holidays. After Remus said his goodbyes we boarded the train, with no going back.

Walking through the small hallways we looked in each compartment, filled with four, five, six people. Way too many for us to sit in comfortably. We had almost given up hope when reaching the last compartment, which sat three boys. 

Remus took a step in front of me poking his head through the door. "can me sister and I sit in here, the rest of the compartments are full." He asked shyly.

The three boys which were sat inside simply shrugged and rem and I walked in and sat across from them.

"Who are you all?" I asked quietly.

A boy with dark short brown hair and glasses smiled before speaking up, "I'm James Potter," I laughed quietly to myself. The boy and I share a name and have the same shape glasses. Though his pair seemed well broken.

The boy beside him pushed his long brown hair behind his ears, "I'm Sirius Black."

Then the last boy with blonde hair smiled warmly, "Peter Pettigrew. Who are you too?"

"My names Remus Lupin and this is my twin sister Y/N Lara-James Lupin. Pleasure to meet you all"

James's mouth formed into a smile, "As with you two but, Y/N I cant believe it, we share a first name and well have the same glasses. What are the chances."

"Wedo don't we, though yours look a bit broken though. Lemme just-" I pulled my wandout of my pocket and pointed it towards his glasses. "Oculus Reparo." I mumbledand seemingly his glasses were as good as new.

"Thankyou so much, my mum told me I better not break them. Merlin she would've had me sent home if she found out I broke them." 

The conversations between us all continued until we arrived at Hogwarts.

Once arriving, the train was hectic and filled with people to the brim. Older students running around in robes, trying to get on carriages with one another so they can get back to the carriage as quick as possible. Followed by voices of teachers screaming for first years to go on boats.

"Firstyears, four on a boat take yer time!" A large man said. He was easily a giantand his hair was longer than imaginable.

Remus was lucky and managed to get on a boat with the three boys from the train. Leaving me alone. As his boat went, he smiled at me weakly. The next boat soon came, and I got on with three other girls. Getting pushed on I huffed in annoyance as I landed on my backside. Though I regained my composure and sat up rubbing my back and smiled at the girls

"I'm Y/N Lara-James Lupin." I said holding my hand out.

A girl sitting across from me took my hand shaking it, "You have a very long name, I'm Melanie Thomas."

Melanie Thomas was a tall girl. She had shoulder length light brown hair. She had more freckles than I could even imagine on her pale skin.

The girl from beside her smiled, "Gabriella Georgie." Gabriella was again a tall girl. Probably the same height as Melanie. However she had long brown hair and was slim like models I saw in magazines.
