My Ruthless Best Friend

JOTARO'S POV:

"I'll see you both soon, yeah. I'll be home before Christmas. Okay, bye love you" I ended the call when my wife hung up. Kasmira wasn't around cause she has to work overtime and have some files to finish, however, I notice a gift that is wrapped beautifully resting on the study table with my name on it and it came from her.
"Yare-yare daze..." I sat down on the couch grabbing the wrapped gift and studied it if this is only just a simple box filled with admiration or useless confession, I shook my head in disbelief, throwing back the gift on the table. I finished packing up my things and later, I'll be home around before lunch when she gets home.

AROUND 12:00 pm...

My phone rang, and it was her calling me, I answered her call and seems to me she's in a hurry which made me frowned.

"Hey, aren't you still going home?"

"I really want to, Jojo. But..."

"Jotaro. I told you call me Jotaro. Anyway, I'll be leaving now, your gift for Jolyne is now in my bag"

"I see... Have a safe trip going home"

"I...  I love you..."

"H-Hey! What's with your I love you?"

"Soon, you'll know it, Kasmira. I need to go now, you know, Christmas traffic"

"Okay, Jotaro. Be safe..."

"You too, Merry Christmas Kasmira-kun"

I wanted to end the call but, I decided not to, until I get home, getting inside the car  putting my phone over the holder and puts it on loud speaker.
"Good grief" I muttered while starting up the car.
"Good grief? Why, something happened?"
I chuckled whenever I imagine her panicked. "Nothing happened. I just realize that you'll be lonely for Christmas Eve tomorrow"
"Oh.. That, it's alright I'm used to it"
"How about celebrate it with me and my family"
"W-With you? Jotaro, you know that your wife hates me...," she said, afraid of seeing my wife. "She thinks of me as a b*tch and you know her whenever I get close to you"
"But, how come you'll celebrate it?"
Kasmira sighed and I could imagine her beautiful emerald eyes forming up in tears. "I'll get used to it. Besides, Jason and Nikita will be with me and who knows, Kakyoin gets home"
"Kakyoin? Where did he go?"
"Well, Europe to investigate some other Stand users, and he'll be arriving later"
I frowned at myself at the side mirror while exiting the town of Morioh. "Kakyoin.. Never thought of that, but tell him that how he was and I kinda miss hanging out with him when our Egypt journey ended"
Kasmira laughed.  "Are you gay? Or a man? Hahaha!!"
"Yare-yare daze... Of course I'm a guy! What thinks of you abour that?!" I laughed afterwards as she laughed after.
"I'll be missing your presence around, Jotaro"
"Same. Your annoying banter whenever you feel uncomfortable with your clothes that you choose even though I'm tired from work, you're always there to keep me at ease"
She awed in flatter. "Aww~ So sweet of you, Jotaro"
"Yare-yare daze..," I replied, still focusing on driving. "I left my black turtleneck on our bed, just in case you get cold"

KASMIRA'S POV:

"Yare-yare daze..," he replied. "I left my black turtleneck on our bed, just in case you get cold"
I smiled underneath my breath and sat down on my leather chair. "What about you?"
"I have an extra, besides, you always wanted to wear my turtleneck"
"Me? Wearing that and how could you say that?"
"While you were separating the clothes from colored to white, I noticed that you're smelling the scent from my turtleneck and later, you wore over your slender body as you continued to do the laundry" he replied, making me shook my head while signing a file for approval. I mouthed Jason to wait for me while talking to this gorgeous, ruthless, Marine Biologist that I used to call as my 'ORA ORA Man'.
"Well, you better hang up while I get something to eat"
"Yare-yare daze..  I'll chat you when I get home" he lastly said and ended the call. I looked at my phone and our call time got longer than I expect,  one hour and half, Jason smiled and gets my coat.
"You're in a good mood, sweety.," Jason said, while wearing his coat and scarf. "Did the Marine Biologist said something to you?"
I shook my head but can't help myself but to smile. "No. He just told me that I should have fun for Christmas Eve tomorrow"
"Really? Or he misses you?" Jason teased.
"There's no way he'll miss me. Take note;  He's MARRIED...."
"Even though he's married, that doesn't mean that he doesn't misses you as his best friend or an acquaintance" he added and he seems to have a point there.
I nodded and admitted that I'm defeated for this. "Alright! You're right about that, let's get some lunch already"

Heading at the lobby, I suddenly stopped when I saw a familiar figure from the waiting area and it was him, he stood up from his seat and smiled warmly opening his arms wide.
"...K-Kakyoin??" My voice trembled as he was finally home from Europe, I ran towards him and threw myself on him.
"Kasmira... It's been awhile, my love" he said softly and kissed my head.
"Kakyoin..." I hugged him tight and felt his warmth again. "Welcome home, my cherry"
I heard him chuckle as he brushed my hair away from my face and leaned close making me laugh as always. "Rero rero rero rero rero ~~~" he whispered his licking sounds making my head tilted back full of laughter, the employees knew my joy whenever Kakyoin nor Jotaro is around and even my friends, Jason and Nikita knew that, they were also my stress reliever.
"How's your investigation there in Europe?" I asked and he smirked.
"It had been fine. But, those users are hiding in some part of Italy"
"I see, before that let's grab some lunch with Jason" I told him.
Jason quickly cleared his throat and smiled at us. "No need, sweetie. Me and Nikita will have lunch after her shift, go and spend time with Kakyoin"
And with that, me and Kakyoin went ahead to have lunch, I felt my heart thumping whenever Kakyoin is home and holding his hand was enough for me but it's different when it comes to Jotaro.
"So, Kasmira,  how's work?" Kakyoin asked.
"It's fine, Jo-- I mean, Kakyoin"
"Really? I heard that Jotaro was with you lately. Joestar-san, told me so"
I nodded. "Yeah. And he's helping me with some files that needed to be done"
"I see. I hope I could see him soon, haha" he said with a chuckle making me laugh too.
"He said the same thing, before he left to celebrate Christmas Eve with his family"
He raised his eyebrows. "I see. How about you?"
"Maybe, I'll just work for the holiday" I told him as he frowned and held my hand.
"Celebrate it with me, then. After all, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year"
"A-Are you sure? What about your parents?" I asked.
"My parents are out of the country to celebrate Christmas as their honeymoon"
I furrowed my brows. "Like a Christmas honeymoon?"
He nodded and he sounded that he was really saying the truth about it, then,  he took out something from his bag and gave it to me.
"For you, I hope you'll love it" handing over the present to me, I opened the gift and to my surprise, it was an emerald green scarf & another small box, he took the small box and knelt down beside me.
"H-Hey.. Wh-What are you d-doing??" I stammered as he opened the small box.
"I think,  it's time for me to ask you personally," he said, with his purple eyes glinting. "Will you be my girl?"
Everyone were around and I felt tears forming in my eyes, he was waiting for me to answer, I smiled.
"Yes!  I will be, Kakyoin!" I answered with a smile as he stood up sliding the ring on my left ring finger. The crowds who witnessed it cheered and cllapped their hands, it was the best gift I received from Kakyoin, the man who made me realize that there are many chances in everything,  he was the one who gave me hope.

AROUND EVENING...

Kakyoin stayed at my place for the whole week and besides, Jotaro won't be around this holiday season. He placed his bags on the vacant corner of the room and helped me out to prepare dinner, I went to change first and then, in the corner of my eye, I saw his black turtleneck and even the gift for him, I felt silent when he forgot my gift or did he just left the gift that I bought for him. Everything was running over my mind as I kept the gift for Jotaro,  then Kakyoin entered, quickly shutting my cabinet hiding Jotaro's turtleneck.
"You okay, love?" Kakyoin asked.
"Y-Yeah. I'm good, I just cleaned up some mess"
"Really?," he said, with his purple eyes studying me if I'm lying or not. "How's Jotaro by the way?"
I almost froze when he mentioned Jotaro, I gave my phone to him and went out of the kitchen.
"Just call him, I'll just prepare dinner"
And with that, I was falling already for Jotaro.
And with that, I was now engaged to Kakyoin without saying it to my only best friend who had his own family.
