“I have a bad feeling about my entrance test for Art Uni,” I whine to my friend, Yassi, who is busy fixing her brows. “I mean, I practically sucked in the crea-“

“Okay, hold up. Girl, you’re practically the most artistic person I’ve ever met. Even though you’re practically shit at drawing but you have the passion for it. You have to pursue it.” She said.

NOVEMBER 2013

“I FUCKING PASSED! I PASSED!” I fucking screamed at Yassi on the phone.

“Dude, it’s like 2 AM. Congratulations though. Goodmornight, Z.” Click.

MARCH 2014

“This is the City Emergency Rescue Team.” The woman on the phone said.

“Please help me! My grandfather is bleeding from his neck. What should I do to make it stop. Please tell me what to do.” I said calmly. I don’t know why but not freaking out is the best thing I can do right now.

“Okay, miss, where do you live?”

After I told her my address, she proceeded to instruct me just to temporarily stop the bleeding. Five minutes later the rescue team arrived. I just met the woman who spoke to me on the phone, “Thank you for your work, and for not freaking out. We’ll take it from here.”

LATER THAT NIGHT

“Being in the medical field seems cool.” I said to my mom.

“Do you want to take the test for X Medical University?” She asked immediately.

“Nah, I just said it was pretty cool.”

MAY 2014

Today is my grandfather’s burial.

LATER THAT EVENING

“I want to take the entrance exam for X medical university.” I said to my parents.

Before they could ask me why, I followed : “I want to do it for granddad. I want to help people.” They didn’t  say anything.

Days later, I took the exam. I immediately got my result the next day. I passed.

And that everyone was how I got into med school when my original plan was to take an art course. Oops, my bad, I haven’t introduce myself, I’m Ziggy. Eh, kung nagtaka kung bakit nag-english ako dito, eh kasi, hindi ako masyadong magaling magtagalog dahil bisaya ako. 

Oy, mga animal, bisaya ko!

So warning lang sa iba dyan, ang kaning istorya nako kay sagol English, tagalog, and bisaya. So, pag ready na daan sa inyong Bisaya-Tagalog Dictionary or di kayay hahanapin ninyo ang mga bisaya nyo na classmate!
