  "They say, timing is everything.

But then they say, there is never a perfect time for anything."

''So, when are you and Evan going on a date?''

I groan loudly as I shuffle around in my closet, organizing my clothes. It's been almost 2 weeks since Evan dropped me off at my house. 2 weeks since had that argument. 2 weeks since I've seen Evan and 2 weeks since I told Jen to drop the subject and it has been a week since my dear best friend won't stop pestering me about him and this non-existent date that she plans on us going on.

''Will you give it a rest, Jen? It's been 2 weeks.'' I say loudly as I pick up a green ugly sweater and look over it in disgust.

Gosh, when did I start buying such ugly stuff?

''Ew, that is the ugliest sweater I've seen in my entire life, and believe me, I've seen some horrifying clothes, but, this, this, tops it all.'' I nod agreeing and throw it in the corner where there are more clothes that are either; short or not according to my taste anymore.

''I will not.'' I pause my shuffling as I wonder what she's talking about before remembering she's answering my previous question.

''Why?'' I asked picking a tank top that had holes in many places and throwing it into the pile, ''Didn't I ask you to drop the subject?''

''Yes, you did,'' she pauses as she picks up the tank top that I just threw in the pile and continues, ''but, do I ever listen to you?''

''You like it?'' I ask pointing to the tank top.

''Oh, yeah, the holes in it makes it look cute.'' I look at her weirdly for a couple of seconds questioning my choice of friends before shrugging and going back to my disastrous closet.

''You don't,'' I answer, ''And that's what we have to change.''

I don't look back from the closet when Jen doesn't answer assuming she was done with the topic but I suddenly turn around when I hear a sniffle:

Well, this conversation suddenly took a turn for the worst.

''Jen? Jen is everything alright?''

Her shoulders shake as she speaks behind her hands that she's using to hide her face with, ''No. No, you asked me to change myself.''

I furrow my eyebrows as I move over to her, ''I didn't ask you to change yourself, Jen.''

''Th-then what was that, ''We're gonna have to change that'' thing you just said.''

I sigh as I wrap my arms around my best friend's shoulders, ''I didn't literally mean that?''

''You didn't?'' She asks, peeking from behind her fingers.

''No, I was joking.''

''So, that means that you're gonna go on a date with Evan?'' She questions as she removes her hands from her face and shows me her teary eyes.

''I don't kn-'' I cut myself off as my eyes suddenly fall onto the water bottle that was resting just a few feet away from Jen on the bed before I looked back at her and noticed that Although, her eyes are watery the rest of her face doesn't show any usual signs of crying like; the red nose, red eyes, etc.

''Actually, you know what?''

''What?'' She asks, suspiciously,

''I think, I think I'll go with Evan.''
