All The year 1 students were in the dinning room waiting to be sorted into there respected houses. Harry Potter stood next to his new friend Ron Weasley waiting to be sorted.
"Draco Malfoy!" Professor Dumbledore called the platinum blond boy who stood on the other side of Harry. Draco walked up and sat on the stool.
'Please not Gryffindor! My father will kill me.' Draco thought. 'but I want to be with Harry and Ron.'
"Um.." The sorting hat thought to itself. "Courage's, caring... GRYFFINDOR!" Draco smiled but was breaking. 'Father is going to kill me.' Draco got off the stool and walked to the Gryffindor table and sat.
"Harry Potter!" Professor McGonigal called and Harry sat on the stool. Once the hat was placed on his head it began to think.
"Um.." Harry began to think 'NOT SLYTHERIN' "GRYFFINDOR!" Harry got off the stool and sat next to Draco who was sad and began to eat the dinner. Once everyone was done they began to head up to the rooms.
"What's wrong Dray?" Draco looked up to see Harry Potter next to him.
"Oh nothing Potter." Draco fought back tears. "I am going to the room." And Draco left.
"Hey Harry. You should go after him and see what is wrong." Harry nodded, grabbed his suitcase and walked to the Gryffindor rooms. As he walked, he saw students unpacking in rooms. As he walked further, he heard the quiet sounds of someone crying. He opened the door and saw Draco on a red bed in the corner of the room and was crying into a pillow. He didn't even hear Harry come in.
"Draco?" Harry sat down his things and then sat next to his friend. Draco sat up as fast as lightning.
"HARRY?!" Draco quickly whipped his eyes. "How long have you been there?"
"Draco... what's wrong?" Draco shook his head.
"Nothing you can do Harry."
"Well I can be here to listen." The young 12-year-old fell onto Harry and began to cry again.
"H-He will hate me!" he said into Harry's shirt. Harry pulled Draco into a hug and laid on the bed. "I will have no family once m-my father see's I'm in Gryffindor!" Harry hugged and drew circles on Draco's back.
"yes you do." Harry smiled as Draco looked him in the eyes. "You go Ron, Hermione, and me." Draco smiled. "If he does dis-own you, then we will become a family."
"Y-your right." Draco smiled again and hugged Harry tighter. "Thank you, Potter."
"No problem Malfoy. Now," Harry looked at the other bed. "You want to share a room? This way if you ever need me I am only 5 feet away?" Draco nodded slowly and fell asleep.
"Hey Harr- oh." Ron walked in the room. "Am I interrupting something?" Harry put a finger to his lips.
"Shush..." Harry tried to get up but Draco held to Harry tighter. "He just fell asleep."
"Oh ok." Ron nodded. "By the way I am sharing a room with my brothers." Harry nodded, and Ron left. Harry Looked down at Draco and smiled.
"I will always be here to protect you." Then hefell asleep.
