A/N: First off! Happy new year! Wow, what a year first off. I started out as a tiny writer (still tiny) within this fandom and with now over 100k reads on one of my books, I am taken aback. Thank you so much for your guys support over the last year and lets see what 2019 has to bring. Let's get into the chapter. Enjoy!
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
My hand rose up to my forehead, my fingers massaging my temples to relieve some of the stress that was trapped inside. A sigh left my lips one I felt tingles linger on my neck as Lauren placed her hands on each side of my neck, her thumbs caressing my skin ever so softly.
"She'll come around." Was all Lauren said between the two of use in a hushed whisper while she leaned her forehead upon my own. My wolf whimpered slightly at just the sheer sweetness my mate had laced within her voice. Its at times like these I thank Luna for giving me a mate who has become my anchor in so many different ways.
We exchanged a quick kiss before the both of us pulled away as our senses picked up on raged breathing and fast footsteps rapidly approaching the two of us. We turned to see Ally in front of us, hands on her knees while she gasped for air.
"We have a slight problem." I couldn't help but frown at the sheer panic that was evident within the short woman. Straightening up, I gave Ally my full undivided attention.
"What is it?"
"It's Dinah. She's found her mate."
My confusion grew and I couldn't help but give Lauren a passing gaze before turning my attention back towards the werewolf.
"Ally, I don't see how this is a problem. This is good news surely?" Even at this point, my wolf was beyond confused.
"Well, it would be if her mate wasn't the girl within that cell."
My eyes widened at the new information. Looking towards Lauren, her expression reflected my own nervous one. Normani was Dinah's mate but what hurt me most was the fact that Dinah was the species that Normani despised.
"Well it does seem we have a slight problem indeed. Take me to Dinah now."
-----------------------
To say Dinah wasn't handling the news well was honestly an understatement. Being the hothead she really is, Dinah was in a mental dispute with her wolf and would bite anybody's head off if they tried to offer her any sort of comfort or help with her situation.
"What are we going to do? We can't just give one of the main military generals leave due to...mental rage. Not with rebels around. We need every wolf and vampire to put an end to this...'civil' war." A sigh left my lips once again as I silently agreed with my mate. What were we going to do? My sympathy swirled within me as I realised how familiar this situation was.
Dinah and Normani was a little bit like Lauren and I. However, Dinah had a more unfortunate meeting with her mate. Rubbing my chin in thought, I turned towards my mate.
"We'll have to let Normani out." Lauren was about to protest. "But she will be under supervision." Lauren looked up at me with confusion written within her eyes. I turned back to look at Dinah, ready to use my Alpha tone on her if she refused to listen to me.
"Dinah." I could visibly see that her wolf was practically growling towards Dinah as her eyebrows were furrowed but she still looked at me, her posture straight to show at least some sort of respect.
"We will let Normani out of her cell." I couldn't help but notice the little twinkle within her eyes once I mentioned her mate's name. "But she will have to be supervised as she is supporting the rebels and against our cause. Not to mention her hate towards werewolves." When I mentioned this, it was like I could her her wolf crying out in her hurt.
"That's why I'm making you try and guide Normani in seeing our ways and trying to understand our cause...and obviously try and make her see that not all werewolves are that bad." I smiked at Dinah's shocked expression. It was honestly something that you had to take a picture of; her jaw practically on the floor, eyes wide and the silence between us was thick. That was until Lauren starting giggling at the girl's face.
Composing herself, she tried hiding the wide smile but that didn't last long as I began smiling at her.
"I will try my best to convince her my Queen." Grabbing my mate's hand, I gestured for Dinah to follow us back to the cells. The journey was practically made of Dinah's small mumbles to herself of how to present herself in front of her mate, should she be broad and stoic or be jolly and 'cuddly' as she put it. It was honestly too cute but this journey between her and her mate was definitely not going to be the smoothest one.
On approaching Normani's cell, I nodded to the guard to open it in which they did, unlocking the multiple locks and chains before opening the door for us. Upon entering the room, I couldn't help but notice how Normani didn't lift her head to acknowledge our presence. That was until I stated,
"We're letting you go." The shock upon her face was honestly picture worthy. "Under strict supervision." The shock that was evident in her expression had vanished immediately and was now replaced with frustration.
"One of my generals will be supervising you 24/7. Hopefully, they can open your eyes about why we are doing this and show you that not all of us are as bad as we have been pictured." I gestured for Dinah to reveal herself, and I couldn't help but see how blank her expression was. She obviously chose the broad and stoic display.
As I watched the two of them, I couldn't help but notice how intrigued Normani was towards Dinah causing me to have a small smile printed across my face.
This was just getting interesting.
