7:00
7:00 In the morning.
7:00 is way to early for me when I see the time on my phone.
I drag myself out of bed to get ready for my first day of work. I walk through my apartment I have recently bought just two blocks away from the city of Phoenix. I turn on the coffee maker and go to the bathroom for a shower.
I step into the shower and wash my hair immediately. The hot water relaxes my tense mussels I have for today. My first job ever is in less than an hour and I'm excited and nervous.
I step out of the shower to a nice smell of coffee going through the apartment. I blow dry my hair and slip on my new Maxi Skirt and professional crop top I got yesterday. My new shoes fit perfectly my mom got me for today. She was way to excited for me on the phone last night when I told her I start my job tomorrow.
I rush to the bathroom to turn on my curler and run to the kitchen to pour me some coffee. I heard the curler beep so I go curl my hair. When I finished I noticed that its 8:03.
"Damn it." I whisper.
I'm suppose I be there at 8:15 and it takes me twenty minutes to get there.
I grab my purse and keys and bolt out the door to the elevator. I wait patiently until I hear a ding and the doors fly open. I bolt in there and push the lobby sign.
"The weather is so damn confusing here." I grunt while regretting to grab a sweater. It's the middle of November here in Phoenix, Arizona and there's traffic and windy cold.
"Damn it!"
Twenty minutes pass by and I finally show up at my new job. Kohls.
I run inside and head to the back of the store to find the manager Mrs.Flouwer.
I knock on the door and hear a settle "come in."
"Hello Mrs. Flouwer I'm so sorry I'm late I..."
"Miss.Fray please sit. You are fine. Don't worry their was a wreck right down the street so thats why their was traffic. I had a feeling you were going to be late because of what happened."
"Thank you Mrs. Flouwer it won't happen again."
"It's fine. Now I'm having a co-worker show you around today and you can start a little bit today just to get you started. Her name is Cassie Lunburg."
"That's awesome thank you."
"Here's your name tag and you have to wear it everyday you come to work or anyone wont believe you work here and might think you a crook or something."
We both giggle.
"Thank you Mrs. Flouwer."
"Cassie will be outside the door to show you around."
"Okay."
"If you have any problems or questions please feel free to come ask me or Cassie. We will most likely know the answer."
We both stand at the same time and Mrs. Flouwer starts heading towards the door as I do so.
"Will do!"
I see a girl with short blonde hair with blue eyes and high heels. Shes very elegant as I glance at her one last time before Mrs. Flouwer starts chatting with Cassie.
"Thank you Cassie."
"Anytime Mrs. Flouwer."
Cassie looks at me with wide eyes and claps her hands together like a little kid just got candy.
"Hi! Oh my! I'm sorry I'm just way to excited to have you hear!" Cassie says.
"It's nice being here!"
"Well hi I'm Cassie! I have worked here for about three years and you are?"
"Oh! Hi I'm Alex."
"Nice to meet you Alex! I love that name by the way."
"Thanks my full name is Alexandra."
Cassie gasp for air.
"Oh my gosh my full name is Cassandra! Were like basically sisters!"
I freaking love this chick.
"That's awesome!"
"Well now that we know our life story's lets get on the tour!"
We both laugh as we start walking towards the front. Shes explaining things about the men's section and how old creepy ladies go over their and droll over the models. She tells me not to mess with them or you might get you finger bitten off buy their fake teeth.
"And here we have the teens section! Mrs. Flouwer wants me and you to start working over here for today like putting jeans in the right size order, shirts wear they belong, accessories on the right hanger thing stuff like that. It may sound stupid but this area can get so unorganized!"
We both laugh again as I nod and listen. She goes over the toddlers and women section before we hit the break room.
"Okay now the employees here. I love this part, you ready?"
"Yes."
"Okay now theirs plenty of employees here but you and me work the same hours and days so I'll just let you know the ones we actually work with."
"Alright." I say.
"Register is Jennifer. Shes about 52 and is very nice. Me and her switch off a couple of days when we get bored of what we do. Next is women's and toddlers, Kaitlynn. Shes a bitch from hell. Yeah it might sound harsh but she has only worked here for four years and thinks shes better than everyone. Thier was this one time when I found a shirt for a toddler over on the teens side so I'm a nice person and decide to take it over to her and she yanks it out of my hands saying "I could of gotten it myself!" She like seriously screamed it."
Note to self.. make sure their are no toddler clothes in our section.
"Last but not least Zayn. He works at men's department. Hes a really nice guy like yeah everyone thinks he's gay but he's straight as can be. Me and him dated for about three months until we're like this isn't really going anywhere but were still great friends."
"Well that's good!"
"Haha yeah but there's someone I do have to tell you about." Shes kind of whispering now.
"Yeah who?"
"He doesn't work here but he's one of Zayns best friends like inseparable!"
"Who is he?"
"His name is Harry Styles."
"Why are you whispering?"
"He's Mrs. Flouwers son."
"Oh."
"Yeah he comes over here alot to see Zayn like almost everyday. And of course to see his mom but mostly Zayn."
"Why are you still whispering?"
I'm so damn curious why shes whispering.
Did he hurt her?
Does he have a bad history here?
"I have no idea!" She pretty much screams which made me jump from the chair.
"I'm sorry!" Cassie says while covering her mouth.
"It's fine!" I manage to say while finish laughing.
"Well now guess what!" She ask me.
"What?"
"Lets get out asses to work!" She says.
"Lets do it!"
We high five like five year olds and head to the teens section.
I'm excited for work now.
