Yo-Yo Dragon

Yugi's POV

[4 months later]

I was walking to school when I overheard someone talking about people using yo-yos to rob others. I looked up at Anzu "people using yo-yos to hurt someone?" I questioned staring at the little yo-yo that Anzu gave me earlier. The yo-yo was called the lion cub and had a little lion cub on it. "It's probably just a rumor" Anzu replied. I nodded "ya" I said as we walked into class. Jonouchi stood there playing with a fire boy yo-yo. "Hey, Yug, Anzu! Come check out my sweet tricks I can do with this yo-yo" he called. We walked over and watched him do some yo-yo tricks. *that's just walk the dog trick* +he has no tricks of his own+ 《ya》 "now check this trick" Jonouchi said before swinging the yo-yo wildly around *jeez, is he trying to kill you* +watch out!+ I was hit in the face with the yo-yo, I stumbled back and crashed to the floor after bumping into one of the desks. "Yugi!? I'm so sorry!" Jonouchi shouted concerned before helping me up. "I'm alright, just was startled but I'm not hurt" I replied. +if I hadn't warned you in time, that yo-yo would have hit you in the neck and could have really hurt you+ 《I know but I can't tell Jonouchi that, it'll just make him feel more guilty than he is now. I don't want to make him feel bad》 *you're not hurt, that's all that matters* "are you sure you're okay Yug?" Jonouchi asked concerned. I smiled at him "yes, I'm fine Jou" I replied happily. He gently brushed against the spot the yo-yo hit me and I flinched. "You flinched, you're hurt!" Jonouchi growled. I whined "it could have been worse" I responded. Jonouchi looked at me concerned "how?" He questioned. *don't tell him Yugi* +he's going to hound you until you do! Quick change the subject!+ I giggled nervously before bolting behind Anzu "hey runt!" I heard someone shout, I quickly hid behind Jonouchi "please leave me alone Akuma" I squeaked frightened. He roughly pulled me out from my hiding spot and slammed me against the wall. "Did you bring me my homework pipsqueak?" He growled. *dirt bag!* +how dare he lay his hands on Yugi!+ "I-I...I'm sorry, I got busy...last night and for...got" I replied nervously. 《Akuma is the one who had been bullying a kid from my class but his victim moved away, now I'm his target because I'm small》 "too bad for you runt!" He growled before beating me. "Hey! Get away from my bud!" Jonouchi shouted before punching Akuma in the face. He released his grip on me and I slid to the ground. *you can always depend upon Jonouchi to punch someone in the face for hurting you* +quick, stop him and lay on the ground and whimper, it will draw the teacher's attention to you and away from Jonouchi+ I was already lying on the floor, I whimpered as the teacher walked in. She turned her attention to Akuma and Jonouchi "Akuma, go to the principal's office now!" She commanded. "Jonouchi, take Yugi to the nurse's office" she said. "Yes madam" Jonouchi replied before gently picking me up and carrying me to the nurse's office. He walked in and over to the nurse. "Oh, what happened to the little cub this time?" Mrs. Yasashī asked concerned. "Akuma attacked him" Jonouchi replied. She told Jonouchi to place me on the bed "I want Yugi to stay here until lunch, that way I can make sure nothing's broken and he can stay safe but I can't hold him here longer than that" she said. "Ok, I'll be back at lunch for you Yug" Jonouchi replied before leaving. *Yasashī means kind hearted, right?* +yes+ 《she always takes care of me when I get hurt at school》 *she has followed Yugi since meeting him in the first grade, she has taken jobs as the nurse or nurse's assistant at every one of Yugi's schools* +she's devoted to helping you isn't she?+ 《yes》 Yasashī checked over me for any injuries, I was just a little bruised but otherwise unharmed. I looked up as I heard the door slide open and someone walked in "hey! You can't just walk in without being invited in!" Yasashī growled. "I mean no harm to Yugi, I'm here to check up on his progress" the man replied. "Wait, I've heard that voice before! Shadi?" I questioned. "It's good to see you again little one, I noticed that Marik went missing and was wondering if you knew where he is?" Shadi asked. +I think my sister misses me and I miss her+ I looked up as Ishizu walked in +Ishizu!?+ *she can't hear you baka!* "do you know where my little brother is Yugi?" She asked worried. "Yes" I replied. The two of them looked at me "where?" Shadi asked. I held up my millennium puzzle "here with me and the pharaoh" I replied. +I haven't asked you before since I first moved into your soul room but may I please take over?+ 《of course》 I smiled up at Ishizu before giving control over to Marik. I watched as I stood next to Yami "Marik?!" Ishizu cried happy to see her brother. +thank you Yugi+ 《my pleasure》 "wait, where is your body then?" She asked confused. I quickly took over as I could see Malik in the corner of the room "he's here!" I shouted. +it's been a year since I saw my sister and my stupid yami has to ruin it!+ Malik stepped out growling like an angry dog "I will end your life this time runt!" He growled before leaping at me, I quickly dove under him and stood in front of the window. 《I might have no choice but to end Malik first but that means you'll never get your body back》 +it's ok, do what you have to do+ I screamed as Malik tackled me out the window. I could see Shadi and Ishizu peering through the broken window as I wrestled with Malik to gain control over the situation. I realized I had complete control over my dark side and took advantage of it. I roared in Malik's face as my eyes changed to crimson, my purple sheen turned gray, I grew a tail and claws and my teeth became cat like. He screamed before trying to get me off him. Malik had pulled out a knife to try even the odds. We were now circling each other like feral dogs. "You're in complete control over your evil soul, I will still kill you though" Malik growled before swinging his knife at me, I dodged and tackled him. We both tumbled down the hill and into the lake nearby. I panicked as I realized how deep the lake was *Aibou!* 《I'm not a very good swimmer, no one ever taught me》 Malik noticed me panicking and realized I couldn't swim without assistance. He swam back to the shore "goodbye runt!" He shouted before disappearing into the alleyway. I sank below the surface and down towards the bottom of the lake. *little one!* 《I'm scared》 +my sister won't let you drown+ I looked up as I heard a splash and saw Ishizu diving towards me. I struggled to hold my breath but the demand for air overpowered me as I blacked out.

Ishizu's POV

I looked on horrified as Yugi fought with Malik, they tumbled down the hill into the lake nearby. I turned to Shadi "we should go make sure the little cub is ok" I said before heading outside. I looked at the lake and noticed Malik swim to shore "goodbye runt!" He shouted before disappearing into the alleyway. I looked towards the center of the lake and could see Yugi go under "no! He's going to drown!" I screamed before I dove into the water and swam towards him. I watched as his eyes closed and he released his breath. 'No!' I thought panicked as I quickly grabbed him and swam to the surface. I dragged Yugi onto the shore and checked for a heartbeat. "He's not breathing!" I shouted before doing CPR on him. Yugi coughed up water as he began breathing. "Yugi! I'm so glad you're ok" I said worried. It took a moment to realize that the millennium puzzle was missing, I looked up at Shadi "his millennium puzzle is missing!" I said panicked. A gust of wind whipped past us before I realized that Yugi had taken off after Malik. Growling and screaming could be heard from the alleyway before Malik bolted out screaming. He threw the puzzle to me before jumping into the lake and swimming across to the other side. I looked down as I felt Yugi nudge me "what just happened?" I asked confused. "Malik is terrified of my dark side, he still won't tell me why" Yugi replied. "How did your wicked side come to be, you're so sweet and innocent" I questioned. "Ask Bakura, I don't remember anything from then" he replied just as said person walked up. I noticed the millennium ring around his neck "so you're the one who has the millennium ring" I said. He smiled sweetly "yes, that's me and you're Marik's older sister, he talks about you all the time" he replied. I smiled back "well I wanted to ask how the little cub's darkness came to be?" I asked curious. He stopped smiling "oh, it was about a year ago. Malik had broken into my house trying to kill Yugi. He made the terrible mistake of shattering the millennium puzzle. Without Yami to suppress his aggression and hatred it overpowered him." Bakura said before placing his hands over Yugi's ears before continuing "when I walked into my house I heard the screams of Malik and growling so terrifying that it could send dragons fleeing in terror. Malik fled down the hallway covered in deep cuts screaming about a crazed hikari. Yugi had crimson eyes, a gray sheen, razor sharp teeth and claws, a long black tail, dragon like wings and pure white horns. He doesn't seem to be able to access that full form anymore" he explained. I looked down as I felt Yugi nuzzle my hand, he looked at me cutely. "He wants you to pet his head" Bakura said. Shadi happily pet Yugi's head instead. "Hey! I wanted to pet him" I pouted. Yugi purred like a little kitten, Shadi picked him up "can we keep him please?" He pleaded. Suddenly Anzu appeared out of nowhere, snatched Yugi and disappeared into the shadows with him. "Ok then, I guess that means no" I said confused. "Anzu has been much more overprotective of Yugi since Malik kidnapped and tortured him" Bakura replied. I stared at him shocked "what!? He tortured the cub?!" I growled. "Did you notice that Malik had one eye covered by his hair? Well it's because the pharaoh stabbed him in the eye. I wish to take out his other eye" Bakura replied with a sinister smile on his face. I backed away disturbed "uh, you're the thief king Bakura aren't you?" I asked concerned about his mental state. He purred "well hello to you too Ishizu, please call me Baku. That's what my hikari calls me" he replied sweetly, not a trace of wickedness. "He's really changed you hasn't he?" I asked. He hissed when Shadi tried to touch the millennium ring, whacking his hand away "DON'T TOUCH MY MILLENNIUM RING, MY HIKARI IS WITHIN AND I WON'T LET YOU TOUCH HIM!" Baku roared. Shadi pulled back, raising his hands in surrender "ok, I can tell you really care about him" he replied. Baku growled before disappearing into the shadows. "These people are very strange" I said confused. "We should leave before it gets weirder" Shadi said before we left.
