Wishing - A Short Story

I have spent my whole life wishing. Wishing for happiness, wishing for answers, wishing for things. But now, all I would wish for is you.

You, with your perfect smile and perfect teeth.

You, with your floppy hair that I love so much.

You, with your kind, mysterious eyes that make me realize just how much I don't know about you.

Your smile is infectious, your laugh is like a ray of sunshine cutting through the darkness in my life, and your jokes make me smile every time (even if they are the worst puns I've ever heard.)

If I could wish for one thing, it would be for you to love me. To have those dreams of long nights talking, laughing, and just being close to each other to come true.

But that can't happen. You don't love me, not like I love you. You love her, and you're happy with her. I love you, but you have her, and I would never ruin something perfect for you. You deserve each other.

If I could have one wish, I wish that you would be happy. I would wish that nothing would ever ruin that true bliss you found in the girl that isn't me. For nothing to come between you and her.

I know this may come as a shock, but I care more about you than I do about us.

I hope you're happy with her.
