"He's amazing, honest" I gushed to Clarence, in an attempt to get her mind away from Jason, that jerk.
"Oh?" She turned her head away from the window and smiled at me, a true smile. A sigh of relief escaped my lips and I nodded enthusiastically, relived that she wasn't as heartbroken as yesterday.
"Hey, I promised the boys I would have you back by 5:00..."
"So you'd be ready for..."the date"?" She laughed, drawing quotation marks around the word 'date'
"Only if you're cool with it, I mean he's practically family and I just..."
"Kat, chill. It's totally cool with me" She grinned at me, and this time it reached her eyes, unlike last night...
Hell, I don't even want to think about last night. It's time to bury that memory away, or at least store it at the back of my mind forever and ever.
"But just saying, Kat, if he hurts you...I'm afraid I'm going to have to break him. Sorry, Clarence" Adam added, speaking up for the first time to the drive to the beach. That idiotic git, I knew he would be listening into our conversation instead of listening to the music blaring out of the speakers.
Nearly had me fooled.
"It's fine, Adam, I'd probably do the same" She chuckled, opening the door out for me as we stepped out into the warm weather.
Shaking my head at my crazy yet protective friend and brother, I took off the surfboard from the roof of the car and saluted to Adam as he drove away, who saluted back with a goofy grin on his face.
"So, this surfing guy...is he cute?" Clarence asked, her tone light. I glanced her way suspiciously. "What?"
"Nothing" I shrugged, adjusting my surfboards position. If this was her way of keeping her mind off Jason...then so it shall be "Sure, he's cute. But don't get any ideas...he has a girlfriend. Oh, did I mention he's 28?" I teased her as we started to wade into the water, too impatient to wait for Ryan to get into the surf.
"Oh, shut up..." She mumbled, rolling her eyes playfully at me.
"RACE YOU TO CATCH THE FIRST WAVE" I yelled out, paddling furiously deeper.
"OH IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG"

"How do I look?" I worried, turning around and facing Clarence, waiting for her approval before we went outside, to Dylan.
"It's perfect" She sighed happily, grinning at me. I smiled with relief and glanced at my reflection quickly in the small caravan mirror in Clarence's room.
A girl with her blonde hair twisted in loose ringlets wearing a cute coral dress with a brown belt looped at the waist and brown simple wedges grinned back at me, her blue eyes alight with happiness.
"Go kill 'em tiger" She laughed, nudging me out of her room as she followed behind. I slowly walked outside, where the boys were waiting.
"Kat...you look...gorgeous" Dylan grinned, hugging me. I hugged him back, rolling my eyes at the 'gagging' audience.
"Use protection!" Clarence laughed after us, much to the amusement of the boys, especially Tristam, who held her by his side and chuckled in her ear, adoration in his eyes.
Oh. I'm shipping Trisence so bad.

"Dylan, this is amazing," I gasped, as a simple picnic dinner came into view, with its light burning candles around and delicious looking food.
