Chapter 24

Happy Christmas Eve everyone :)

It's been a little rocky for the past couple of days.
David's subscribers are slowly coming back, but that doesn't stop what the media is doing.
Every article, video, blog is about David 'cheating' on Liza, and it's really taking a toll on him, and I'm getting worried.
He won't really talk to me, or anyone. He doesn't vlog.
This is not him.
I head into his room to see him lying in bed on his phone.
"Hey," I whisper to him but he doesn't even look at me.

"David," I say a little louder, putting my hand on his arm, but all he does is roll over, ignoring me.
I roll my eyes at his childishness and grab a suitcase.
"What are you doing?" He finally questions when he sees me packing stuff up.
"I'm going to go stay with Corinna for a couple of days," I tell him and he sits up.
"Why?" He asks annoyed.
"Because this is not you. I understand something horrible happened, and I wish it didn't, but this isn't just affecting you. Do you realize everyone from back home is looking down on me now because they think I cheated on Shawn? Yes you have a career backing on this, but I'm not putting up with this anymore," I explain, zipping up my suitcase.
It's been a lot trying to deal with him the past couple of days.
He's been beyond rude to me, not letting any of his friends over, getting mad if I make any noise really.

He needs to learn that the world doesn't revolve around him.
"You're being ridiculous," He says laying back down pulling his blanket over him.
"No David. Call me when you realize how much of a dick you're being," And with that, I slam his bedroom door and make my way out to my car.

Luckily I've been talking to Corinna about everything going on, and she has offered me to stay with her which I'm more than grateful for.
Kristen also offered her place but seeing as how she's living with Scott, Todd, and Jason, I feel like it'd be awkward since they're naturally going to want to take David's side being his best friends.

"Hey Corinna," I greet her with a hug as she helps me with my bag.

"This is going to feel like high school," She says causing me to laugh.
We literally lived at each other's houses in high school and middle school. If I wasn't with David, I was with Corinna.

"We should make a video," She says as we settle on her couch.
"About?" I ask. I still feel uncomfortable being on camera, and especially with everything going on, I don't know if going on camera is the smartest decision for me right now.
"Reacting to old videos from high school! Oh my gosh, it'd be so fun. We could invite Dom and Davi..." she stops talking and looks at me.
"Sorry. I forgot," She says and I smile.
"It's not like we've broken up. He's just going through a lot right now with ex-drama and isn't understanding of the fact that I'm also affected. If he realizes that, then we'll be fine," I explain to her and she nods.
I could tell she still feels bad about bringing up Dom and David to make the video, as she was so excited about it before.
"We should still make the video though I think it'd be funny. Just me and you," I say and she smiles.

"Hey, guys! It's me Corinna and I'm here with my best friend in the entire world, Natalie," She pulls me into a side hug as I wave to the camera.
"And today we're going to be reacting to our old videos from high school together," She finishes.
"Hopefully it's just high school and no middle school videos mixed in," I joke and she laughs, agreeing with me.

We just want to avoid that awkward phase.

"Oh my gosh Natalie, look," She pulls up a video of us cheerleading, and it has to be freshman year.
We were tiny, no curves whatsoever, and looked like the most awkward people ever.
"This is horrible why did we decide to do this?" I joke covering my eyes and she laughs in agreement.
This is just too embarrassing to be putting out on the internet.

We go through videos for a while, and I honestly forget that we're even filming this, so I start to feel much more comfortable and carefree.

She finishes the video off, and we continue going through old pictures and videos, as its bringing back so many memories.
We grab wine from the fridge and reminisce about all of the years we've spent together.

"Remember when I convinced you to make out with Adam Walker," I laugh and her face turns red.
"How could I forget? Becky was dating him at the time and she beat the shit out of me," She bursts into laughter.

My mind can't help but wander back to David.
I've been gone for a few hours now, and he hasn't texted me, which I figured he would at least say something.

I hope I didn't really fuck it up.

Having this space though may be a good idea, as we're both dealing with the issue differently.

My phone starts ringing and I see it's David's mom, so I dismiss myself before answering.
"Hey honey," She comes on saying. I relax instantly, just the sound of her voice could calm me down.
"Hey what's up?" I answer, opening Corinna's back door to her yard.
"I saw what happened. Is everything okay?" I knew right away she hasn't talked to David and knows that I'll tell her everything where David will blow it off.

"I don't know. I'm staying with Corinna for a few days just because he's being a dick about the whole situation. He just isn't realizing that it's affecting more people than himself," I tell her the truth. I knew she'd get mad if I didn't.

"Oh, honey good for you. I know this is hard on him, as it should be but it's affecting you too. His dad and I are just worried about him. Let me know how everything goes, yeah?" She says and I can't help but smile before agreeing and hanging up.

Are they gonna make it? 
The next couple of days I'm going to TRY so hard to upload, but with tomorrow being Christmas, I'll be with my family. And then the day after I get my surgery, so I promise I will try as hard as I can to upload for y'all.
