Yugi's POV

[2 weeks later(8:00 pm)]

I was walking home after watching a movie with Jonouchi and Honda, we had gone our separate ways to go home. <something is following us> I looked back as I heard a stick snap, I saw deep blue eyes peering at me from the alleyway. I bolted for the game shop, slamming the door behind me and bolting upstairs before diving into my bed and hiding under the covers. <little prince, I didn't mean to scare you. I didn't think you would react so badly> 《it's okay》 I said cautiously peeking out from my blanket as my grandpa walked in concerned. "Yugi? Why do you look so frightened?" He asked. I shivered "something was following me home, I was frightened" I whimpered. He pulled me close "you're safe now" he replied gently petting my head. I curled up purring happily. "Thanks grandpa, I feel better now" I replied as I fell asleep.

[3:00 am]

I awoke from a terrible nightmare screaming. I cuddled my plush dragon close to me. <(yawning) little prince? Is something wrong?> 《I had a nightmare》 <oh, do you want to talk about it?> 《I had watched my friends die in front of me but couldn't do anything to save them》 I whimpered. <it's ok, we're all still here little prince> I purred happily 《I feel much better, thank you》 <my pleasure little prince> I yawned before something startled me "hello little prince, it's good to see you again" the creature hissed. I screamed as the large dragon stepped into my room. <quick, go out the window> I bolted for the window, carefully sliding down the roof and down the tree next to the edge of the roof. I made a run for Kaiba's house. I didn't bother knocking, I crawled through the dog door. I bolted upstairs into Seto's room and dove onto his bed shaking "little cub, what are you doing here?" He asked concerned. I shook frightened "a large dragon, chased me from my room, I ran over here because I feel safe here" I replied shaking in fear. Seto pulled me close "it's ok Yugi, I won't let the dragon hurt you. I promise" he replied pulling me close to him "you can sleep with me tonight" Seto said before we both fell asleep. <my modern day self is still very protective of you little prince>

[8:00 am]

*it's Christmas, have you gotten gifts for your friends?* 《I've gotten gifts for Jonouchi, Honda, Bakura, Seto, Mokaba, Ishizu, Shadi, Malik, and Maximilian Pegasus but I don't know what to get for Anzu》 +Anzu would love anything you get for her+ <she was looking at the heart pendant yesterday but said she couldn't afford it. She would appreciate it if you got it for her> 《that's a great idea, thanks》 I grabbed my jacket and headed to the mall. I walked into the store where I last saw the pendant "hello, do you need any assistance?" An employee asked. "Actually yes, I was wondering if you still had the heart pendant" I replied. "I'm sorry sir but we're sold out of the heart pendants, the jewelry shop down at the back of the mall has one left. If you hurry you can get it before someone else" she replied before I bolted towards the jewelry shop as fast as I could. I skidded into the store "please tell me you still have the heart pendant" I pleaded. "Sorry, we just sold it" he replied. *oh no* I bolted outside, not even bothering to open my umbrella as I ran towards the jewelry store in the more unsafe neighborhood. I bolted threw the door "do you have a heart pendant?" I asked desperately. "You're in luck, it's the last one" he replied before I handed him the money and took the pendant. "Thank you" I said before heading back home. <I sence danger coming this way, quickly run little prince!> I bolted only to bump into someone. "Hand over everything of value you have" they demanded. I quickly got up and fled terrified. "Hey! Get back here runt!" They shouted chasing after me. 《I will not lose the pendant after going through the trouble of finding it!》 I said as I slipped into the alleyway. I dove for a hole in the fence but felt a knife stab into my side "you're not going to get away that easily!" The man shouted before I kicked him. He pulled back and I escaped to the other side of the fence. I quickly ran back to Seto's house, I slammed the door behind me. *you're bleeding little one!* I looked down at my injured side 《I'll have Roxy tend to my injury》 I said before heading down the hallway to the medbay.
