Tara's POV
Christmas, to me, is a lot like a birthday. You have to make sure everything is perfect. Holidays are spent at Louis, Harry, and my house. Everyone has their own task and it has to be absolutely perfect. Nothing can be just good enough. There is no such thing as good enough. The guys have been driving me up the wall with the decorating.
"No thank you. We don't want tablespoons of salt in the cookies. Now, get out of my kitchen!" I quickly left the kitchen and went to the living room to find Niall decorating the Christmas tree with Brooklyn.
"Do you guys need any help with the decorating?" Niall glares at me.
"You'll just move everything around and I need it to be absolutely neat. Now, shoo." I raise my hands in defence and leave them to it. I walk outside to find Liam on the ladder and Louis barely holding it.
"Louis, I swear to God, if you let go of the ladder I'll make sure to fall on you!" Louis giggles.
"Good one, mate. But I'll make sure to leave before you can."
"Do you guys need help decorating the house?" Louis looks at me and opens his mouth to speak but is interrupted by Liam.
"Don't look at Tara! Pay attention to holding the ladder sturdy." He rolls his eyes at Liam.
"I'm honestly not even holding it to begin with."
"WHAT!?" Liam falls off the ladder and into a huge pile of snow. I hold back a laugh.
"Liam? You okay in there?" I ask as I walk a little closer to the pile of snow.
"Liam, mate? Don't go towards the light! I repeat, do not go towards the light!" I shake my head at him and Liam surfaces; spitting out snow.
"Don't. Ever. Lie. About holding the ladder. Again." He glares at Louis.
"I'll take it as a 'no' to me helping you guys out." I half-whisper. They shoot me a glare and I slowly walk backwards into the house.
I walk upstairs and into my room to stuff the stockings. That was the one job I had, but I was bored. I lock my door, so nobody can snoop on the stockings. This is our very first Christmas together since we all moved here. I just want everything to be absolutely perfect! This is my first Christmas away from my family. I missed them.
The town of Ambrosia was so beautiful this time of year. Snow blanketed the town and lights twinkled at night. Children would make snowmen and snowwomen. Snow angels patterned almost every front yard. Every season brought something new to the town. Though I miss my family, I'm happy I moved here. I look out my window and smile at the snow falling down. It's beautiful.
Harry's POV
I have been making cookies all morning. It was already dark outside, and about 7, I think. That's about twelve hours that I've been up and baking. I'm starting to feel tired already and I'm not done at all. I have to bake for our neighbours, families, us, and the town Christmas gathering. Twenty cookies per house, ten thousand people in this town. That's atleast two hundred thousand cookies. So, yeah, I have been baking all morning, afternoon, and even all week.
"Harry, do you need any help making the cookies?" I look at Tara blankly, out of exhaustion.
"No thank you. We don't want tablespoons of salt in the cookies. Now, get out of my kitchen!" She quickly leaves the kitchen.
I should have thanked her for offering and let her help. I am so tired, and she could have made it easier for me. Now I have to bake all these cookies myself and I still don't have nearly enough for half the town. Niall walks into the kitchen and grabs a cookie. I hiss at him and he drops it. What a waste of a cookie. I glare at him.
