If Taehyung was unsure of his feelings before, he finally got the reality check. And the reality slapped him hard in the face.
The moment his eyes met the big doe ones, the air supply was cut off him and a sharp pain pierced his chest. He coughed out a dry sob, unable to believe his eyes. His best friend's betrayal hurting him beyond explanation.
Jeongguk pulled back from Jimin for just a second, smirking at Taehyung, before he resumed kissing the blonde with even more passion. Jeongguk's hands roamed over Jimin's plump asscheeks before he squeezed them, grinding into the smaller male.
The moment Jimin's broken moan reached Taehyung even over the music, he couldn't take it anymore.
Taehyung turned and walked out of the living room, ramming into the shoulder of a smaller male with blue hair on his way. He didn't bother to inform anyone that he was leaving and soon he was running out of the house towards his apartment building. He needed to clear his head and he had to do it now.
Why was it hurting Taehyung anyway? Was it because Jimin was kissing Jeongguk, or was it because his best friend was kissing the guy... he probably liked? Taehyung didn't know.
He was a confused mess, unable to understand his own emotions, but he was absolutely sure it was hurting him, the way his heart clenched in his chest was uncomfortable.
How the hell in just a little over two weeks did Taehyung end up in this entanglement of feelings? He was absolutely sure he hated his annoying neighbour who made extra noise just to irritate him.
Jeongguk and Jimin were two humans who had the right to kiss anyone and do anything they want. So why was Taehyung bothered by the fact that they were doing each other?
"Why Jeongguk? Why him, Minnie, why?" Taehyung whispered through his teeth as he increased his pace, tears finally flowing down his cheeks.
Just a while back they were making the same boy believe that he and his best friend were hooking up. And this is what Jimin did? After all these years of faithful friendship and unconditional love, is that how Minnie is repaying him? Didn't he like Yoongi?
But Taehyung just couldn't stop thinking why was it killing him in such a way? Why was it that everytime Jeongguk did something to push Taehyung's buttons, he started finding it cute instead?
Why was it compulsory for Taehyung to bicker with his neighbour at least once a day, or he wouldn't feel complete? When did those cringy nicknames start giving him butterflies? When did he start feeling jealous of the girl Jeongguk fucked every night, or the girl he was making out and grinding with at the party?
It was unusually quiet as Taehyung reached his apartment. For the first time in weeks, the tenant residing in apartment 31 was not home and the silence was dense. Taehyung was used to coming home to the noisy corridor.
His hands shivered as he unlocked the door and entered his apartment, slowly closing it behind him. He walked towards the kitchen and pulled out a mug from a cabinet before he started brewing himself some black coffee.
Tears continuously stained his cheeks as the scene played and replayed in his head. Jimin's moans echoed in his head, making the pain even more unbearable.
Taehyung pulled out the painting which was folded neatly from his back pocket. HE balled up the paper, gritting his teeth before tossing it at the wall across from him. A scream of agony escaped his lips as he clutched onto his hair.
And he couldn't stop thinking about Jeongguk's big doe eyes. Everytime he looked at them, he got lost in the thick brown sea of those glossy orbs. And just one look in those eyes was enough for Taehyung to break through the facade Jeongguk displayed.
