"Hi.." she waved at him, smiling surprisedly seeing him in front of her. She came actually shopping with her friends and even had informed him about her whereabouts, but she didn't expect him to be at the same place as hers. What was he doing here? Or did he came here purposely to see her?
"Hi.." he smiled and walked to her, "What a coincidence! You and me.. At same place!" he lied, it wasn't a coincidence, the truth is that he was missing her even though he had seen her yesterday only.. Forget yesterday, they see each other almost everyday! But still, whenever he had a chance to see her, he would grab it without any second thought and that's what happened, she informed him that she was going shopping with her friends and he decided to meet her giving this meeting a magical fairytale touch! Of course he wouldn't say to her that he had followed her, but lie that it was just a beautiful coincidence and make her think he was her Prince Charming!
"Yeah.. What are you doing here?" she asked smiling teasingly, does he think she's going to believe in this sweet lie of his? Still she continued the act to not make him feel awkward.
"Work! I came here to meet some foreign partners and we're heading to that restaurant.." he said and pointed to the restaurant he talked about.
"I see.. Where are them?" she asked looking around him, trying to control the smile on her face.
"You see my partner's wife got sick suddenly and he cancelled the meeting.. So here I'm with nothing to do!" he shrugged acting casually, but deep inside was praying she believes in his lie. He didn't know lying was so difficult like this, now he wonders how much his Jija (Shyam), Akash and Aman manage to lie at their wives almost everyday! He wouldn't have succeeded in this department. His lies can be easily comparable with a kid's lie, you will find no difference at all and both can be caught in one minute only.
"Khushi let's go to that shop.." her friend held her hand taking her away from him. He frowned, he put so much effort for one lie and here friend just took her away like that.
"Hey wait.. I can't come with you! I'm done with shopping for now.. See you! Bye!" Khushi stopped her friend and detached her hand from her friend's that was complaining all the way, that she changed, she doesn't spend time with them at all, she isn't their best friend anymore.
Ignoring all her friends complaints, she went towards him, leaving the shopping still upset that he couldn't take her with him as he had planned to.
"Arnav.." she called his name softly with her melodious voice.
He turned to her and the smile that got lost from his face, appeared again!
"Won't you take me with you?" she asked, the question had other meaning which she hoped he understood.
He walked near her and took her hand in his, smiling: Are you sure?
Another question with other meaning, which he hoped she would understand.
"Yes!" she replied.
"Look at my new dress Arnav.." she pouted repeating the same sentence for the tenth time while he was driving the car, not caring to look at the dress.
"I don't like it.." he replied and the car came to a halt as red signal appeared just to make the state of the heavy traffic in Mumbai worse.
"You didn't even look at it once, how can you say that?" she glared at him.
"I saw it.. I'm not like you girls that need to keep a close watch on the dress! Seriously you girls look at one dress like you're buying it with your eyes already.." he chuckled.
