**Jonathan's POV**
First day of school for Jody and me. I really didn't want to start a new school, but this game with the territory of having a parent in the Army. Dad was always moving us around. We never been in the same school long. I never made friends due to it, always felt like an outcast.

As I walk through the doors, Jody follows me. With her always being shy, I feel the need to protect her. From past experiences, she never makes it home without bruises. Girls in our past schools would beat her up.

We make our way to the office, as other students stare at us and whisper. I got use to the whispers, but it always affects her. As we enter the office, tears has already escaped down her cheeks. She wipes the tears away as frustration threatens to overtake me. Behind us the door opens. I turn around to see a blonde-haired girl enter.

**Renee's POV**
I enter the office carrying my binder with the left strap of my backpack over my left shoulder. Between my chest and the binder is a stack of flyers.

I proceed closer to the counter without watching where I was going. I bump into someone.

"I...I'm...sorry," I say, before I look up and our eyes meet.

"I should have said something," he says, as his bluish green eyes lit up.

I smile slightly, as I look down. He looks down to where my eyes aim. We both squat down at the same time and reach for the flyers. Our fingertips touch and sparks run through my body. I pull my hand back and blush, as he gathers my flyers.

**Jonathan's POV**
She looks amazing when she blushes. What am I say? We just met and I was looking at her this way.

I hand her the papers as I stand up and turn back around. Great Jon. You won't even be here long enough to get to know her. I smile as she moves to my right side.
