Nightmares and The Wicked

Yami's POV

I was in an unfamiliar place. I looked up as I saw Ishizu, Marik and Shadi on the left side of an altar meant to house the 7 millennium items. Anzu, Jonouchi, Honda, Bakura, Seto, Mokaba and Solomon Motou stood on the right of the altar. My hikari Yugi stood in front of the altar. I stood on the right side of my partner "in order for the pharaoh to pass on to the afterlife he must lose a duel" Ishizu explained. "Yugi vs Atem, this duel decides your fate pharaoh" Shadi said. I moved against my will to the left while Yugi went to the right. We activated our duel disks and began the duel, I ended up losing. The door behind the altar opened and I began to walk through when a scream halted me in my tracks. I turned around to see a shadow standing over Yugi with blood dripping from its claws. It turned to me before slashing its claws across Yugi's neck, killing him. "NO!" I screamed. I jolted awake 'just a nightmare' I said before looking over at my precious hikari, he was peacefully sleeping. <your worst fear is losing your hikari> *I care about Yugi more than I do for my own life* <he cares about you more than his own life, he told me that he had risked his life in a burning building just to put the millennium puzzle back together> *I remember only the start of the duel, I had no idea what happened afterwards. He did that just to save me?* +yes+ I turned my attention to my hikari *I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's too good for this world* <he has a heart of gold, even understanding the cruel darkness of this world he keeps his kindness, compassion and innocence. He's a pure soul> I was startled by a tiny whimper. *it's Yugi, his fever has gone down but he's still feeling the pain from being abused by those three boys yesterday* <poor little prince> +shhhhh! I heard something!+ I listened when I suddenly heard a loud crash from the game shop, right outside the door. *the door is safely hidden behind the shelf behind the counter* +who ever is out there they just went upstairs to Yugi's bedroom+ *they're after my hikari!* "Where Are You Runt!?" Someone growled. 《(Whimpering)》 *Yugi? Please stay quiet* 《o-ok》 <everything's going to be okay little prince> +trust us, you're safe but you need to stay quiet+ 《ok》 I looked at Yugi who was shaking with fear. I heard a gunshot and Solomon screaming "That was a warning shot! Next time I shoot you in the head! GET OUT NOW!" He commanded. The person shrieked before bolting out the door screaming about a crazy old man. 《Ya, crazy overprotective》 *hahaha* <you have a weird sense of humor little prince> 《I know》 I smiled *your grandpa may be overprotective but that is what saved your life* 《ya and I'm extremely grateful for that》*you should get back to sleep, your fever is lower but still there* 《ok》 Yugi replied before falling back to sleep. *I'm becoming exhausted, Seto can you stand guard over Yugi please?* <of course my king> *thank you* I replied before returning to the puzzle and to my soul room.

Priest Seto's POV

I took over the watch over my precious little prince as my king had gone to sleep as well. I would do anything to protect my king and prince. I've lost them once, I won't lose them again. +I'll stand guard with you+ <thank you Marik> +my pleasure, I'm just as determined to protect the pharaoh and his hikari+ I quickly shot up as I heard a loud noise from outside the game shop. 《If you need to leave the room without wanting to risk someone seeing you, there's a hatch on the roof of the closet. It leads up to my bedroom. Even if you're a spirit, you can't walk through walls like in the movies》 <that's true> I replied before opening the closet. Unlike the other two spirits residing within Yugi's body, I can wonder as far as I please. I looked up at the hatch <how are you even able to reach the hatch, you're too short little prince and I still can't reach it> 《there's a broom with a hook attached to the end in the corner of the closet. I use that to pull open the hatch, a ladder will slide down when the hatch opens》 <oh ok> I replied as I grabbed the broom <property of Hiroto Honda> I read on the side of the broom. 《Ya, I took it after the incident when Shadi tried to hurt me to get to Yami, who at the time didn't even realize existed, by taking control over Anzu and Honda. Shadi learned a very valuable lesson that day and admitted what he did was wrong. He apologized by protecting me and my friends from danger all week. He was truly sorry for what he did》 <you taught him that compassion for others only makes you stronger. When you stand together nothing can stop you> 《very few people truly understand that》 I smiled before climbing up the ladder and through the hatch. I poked my head out the other side of the hatch, which led under Yugi's bed. I crawled out from under the bed and headed downstairs. I poked my head out, looking around the game shop and noticed that the shop was trashed. Shelves were knocked over, everything was scattered across the floor and the cash register was completely torn apart with the money missing. <it looks like a tornado tore through here, all the money from the register is missing and the shelves are knocked over with their contents scattered across the floor> 《no! It will take weeks to get the shop back in order, that's a major loss of money that we can't afford. It's going to be a struggle to survive for quite some time》 <we're here for you little prince> 《thanks Seto》 <my pleasure little prince> I replied before returning to the secret sanctuary.
