Chapter 18- A Challenged Heart- part 1

The following morning I was lying down on the sofa when Jai walked in.

"Hey" I said.

"Hey"

"So not many walkers around lately"

"Yeah been a bit boring really"

"Yeah..."

"Can I ask you something ?"

Yeah sure"

"Can you teach me how to shoot,please?" He asked quietly.

I laughed a little and said "yeah it's about time someone like you learned to shoot a gun"

"What do you mean someone like me?"

"Oh you know the player, the guy in a 'gang' " I teased.

"Meh"

"How about we get started now?"

"Yeah sure"

Me and Jai got up to go outside when Kenny came out his bedroom.

"What y'all doin?" he asked.

"I'm going to teach Jai how to shoot" i smiled.

"Okay" he replied with annoyance in his voice, what got his panties in a twist? Me and Jai walked out side and off the boat and onto the bank.

"Okay so the first thing to know about shooting is how you hold the gun in the firing-ready position.You are really gripping the gun only with the middle and ring fingers, the "pinky" is resting on the gun but is not used to grip; neither is the thumb used to grip the gun. The grip should be very tight. Grip the gun so tightly?r that your hand begins to shake, like a handshake in which you're trying to prove something. If you're gripping it so tightly that the gun shakes, you're in the ballpark, but relax it a bit from there to stop the shaking. like this. i showed him. he coppied me pretty well.

"so next you need to Cup your non-dominant hand to cradle your firing-hand in it. It should not be used to grip the gun, but primarily for steadying the gun vertically and horizontally. Align both of your thumbs for support and accuracy" as i said and showed him this he was copying and paying alot of attention to what i was saying.

*1 week later *

I have spent everyday training Jai but I had noticed Kenny has been becoming more and more distant and more angrier . I don't even know why! Anyway right now me and Jai have just come back into the boat. Jai walking straight into his room and I sat on the couch. I lay down. Kenny was sitting at the end of the sofa. he glared at me as I lay down,what the heck is wrong with him?! I sat up and crawled next to Kenny and lay Down , putting my head on Kenny's lap. I sat looking up at him but he just ignored me. I poked his chest, he glanced down at me but then carried on looking else where. I poked him again and again. He looked down at me looking annoyed to hell.

"Kennyyy" I groaned.

"What?" he snapped.

"...What have I done ken?" when i called him ken his face went soft as if remember something then he looked angry and sad.

"dont call me that" he said through gritted teeth.

"What did I do!" I sad getting up and standing in front of him ,hand on hip.

"You and him!"

"Why I'm only teaching him how to shoot!"

"I barley see you anymore let alone talk to you!"

"You don't even try to talk to me anymore!"

"Because I never get the chance!"

"You always have the chance me and Jai come in when it gets dark and when we come in I come sit in here with you!!" I snapped.

"Your so annoying!"

"I'm annoying how dare you!your annoying! I hate who you have become this whole thing has changed you! you used to be a kind caring strong tough person but no your just a idiot unsocial able person!"i shouted.

"Fuck you Clem you don't even deserve to be here" he yelled.

I was taken aback be that. tears brimmed my eyes and slowly fell down my face. Kenny's face soften.

"Clem im s-"

"I HATE YOU!" I screamed then ran down the hall and into Jais room.
