Riley's POV
I woke up to my phone ringing, without even checking the caller ID, I answered, "hello?"
"Hey Riley, it's Ricardo from Enchanted, how are you?" I woke up immediately recognizing the voice of the person that was now my boss. "Good morning, I'm pretty good, how are you?" I rubbed the sleep from my eyes trying to figure out what time it was and if I somehow forgot I had to go into work today.
"I'm good, thank you for asking. I just wanted to ask you if you were available tomorrow, I was hoping you could come in." I breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh yeah, I'll definitely be able to come in tomorrow." He thanked me and hung up, I stared at my phone for a few minutes, kind of in a daze about what just happened.
After I came back from my trip during the summer, I went on a mission to find a job and as luck would have it, I found one at one of the few stores I happened to walk into at our local mall. Ricardo, who was the store manager, was the first person I saw when I walked in. He was tall, calling attention to himself, and you could just see the confidence he carried himself with. Seeing as he was the store manager, he told me I could apply and do the interview immediately, so that's exactly what I did, the next day I received a call from him saying I got a job offer and training was the day after.
On the morning of my training session, I obviously had to miss my alarm and wake up an HOUR late. Ricardo was thankfully very nice about the whole thing,and although I was late, I got there just in time to do the actual register training.
Training was only a couple of hours, but during that time everyone got to know Ricardo a little better. He was in his 30s and married, surprisingly to a woman (we all thought he was gay because he was the definition of diva), and had a daughter. He was an extremely nice and funny man and I knew that getting along with him was not going to be an issue, something I was very thankful for.
Now I sat in my bed excited and scared for what was to come in this new opportunity, I never thought that this job would change just about everything in my life.
