Bitter Sweet love

I rushed to get dressed, it was already 7:25. So much for snoozing in for five more minutes, I snoozed a whole half an hour. I quickly dressed into my coffee shop uniform, with one last look in the mirror I ran out the house.

"It's 7:37 already! mother-"

It's only a fifteen minute walk to the café, so I should make it in half the time running, right?  I pulled the hair bow from my wrist, attempting pony tails while running is pretty challenging. I continued running. My foot slipped from under me and I crashed to the ground.

"Shi-" I got up and continued to run

I'm so dizzy, why now of all times.

"No time to be dizzy Sara, you need to get the doors open before everyone gets there" I told myself.

I sped around the corner and stopped dead in my tracks. One of the workers was already there, unlocking the door. I pulled out my phone and checked the date.

"IT'S MOTHER FLIPPIN SATURDAY"

I put my phone away, holding in another scream. I don't have a Saturday shift, I never did. I kicked an old can into the street, why am I so stupid. Letting out a sigh, I started heading to my house. The bakery was already on there first batch of breakfast cookies. It smells so good. My stomach started growling. I made up my mind to come back when they opened at 8:30. I began to stretch, a pain zipped up my left arm. I threw my arms down, holding onto my left arm I held in a cry of pain. I pulled up my sleeve to show a large gash on my forearm. I winced, taking off my uniform and holding it to the wound. I looked across the street at the local CD shop. After a moment of hopeless thinking, I crossed the street and walked into the building.

Mr. Jack is usually in by now, I should know.

"Jackie! Are you back there? I need a little help" I waited for a reply, looking around the shop behind me

"Well, well. If it isn't ol' Sara Williams"

I recognized that voice, the voice of a man. Whom I call. My best friend.

"Ryan" I breathed out

"The one and only, baby doll" He smiled

He had grown so much in the last six years. He doesn't look like the freckled nerd with glasses as I once remembered. He walked from behind the counter, still smiling like a dork. His black hair was plastered to his forehead, bringing out the icy blue of his eyes. He's gotten so cute.

"Holy Cheezits Sara, whadcha' do to your arm" His eyes began to get wide

"Oh uh, fell outside, running to work" I stuttered out

"I thought you didn't work Saturday?"

"I realized when I got there, thanks for the memo blondie boy" I groaned in pain

"Well, why don't we head on the back and you let old doctor Ryan fix you up baby doll" He winked

I laughed

"You still practicing your flirting skills on me?" I teased

"It must work some day" He laughed out

Putting a warm hand on my back, he began to lead me to the back storage room. Before we could make it, I saw Jack lying on the floor.

"Hey Mr. Jack"

"Heeey Munchkin, didn't know you'd be up so early"

"Didn't know you would hide the fact that my best friend came back Jackie" I glared at him

"I thought you'd were still asleep munchkin"

"Yeah, well princess over here was heading to work, and fell getting herself hurt." Ryan budded in
