"If you are broken, I will mend you.

And keep you sheltered from the storm that is raging on now."

Liam's P.O.V.

"I told you not to show me your face. Ever." Alya's dad spoke through gritted teeth and I could see him clenching his jaw, glaring at his daughter as if he would hit her any moment then. Without saying another word, he stepped out of the house and slammed shut the door behind him.

In another instant, I briskly paced towards Alya who kept standing at the same place, her gaze then fixed on the floor. Without uttering a word, I wrapped my arms around her petite body, pulling her in for a tight hug while she stood motionless in my embrace. I had honestly no idea how to console her because I knew that no fucking words could make her feel better after whatever had just happened.

What type of man talks to his daughter in that way? And that too, someone like Alya? That girl who spreads smiles everywhere she goes. That girl who brings life to whichever place she goes. That girl, who radiates nothing but positive vibes.

Suddenly, I felt Alya move in my embrace, interrupting me in my angry thoughts and the next moment, she wrapped her arms around my back and pressed the side of her face hard against my chest. A few seconds later, the low, muffled sound of her sobs fell into my ears and I, instantly, tightened my grip around her, giving a gentle squeeze to her body.

"Shh. Nothing happened, princess." I whispered into her hair, rubbing her upper back lovingly and placed a soft kiss on her head. "Everything's okay," I spoke in a tender voice and pulled back slightly while she avoided eye contact with me, her eyes shut tightly then. Cupping her face in my hands, I wiped away the tears from her face. "Look at me, sweetheart," I spoke in a tender voice.

Shaking her head in return, she sniffled before another tear rolled down her cheek. "Hey, it's okay," I said, giving a gentle squeeze to her cheeks. "It's just us," I whispered and she slowly opened her eyes, sobbing lightly. "Just us," I repeated the words and she finally looked up at me.

The moment our eyes met; my heart sank seeing her in such a woeful condition. The pain reflecting in her eyes at that time made me feel even more helpless than I already was. I just could not figure out the required words that she needed to hear, which would make her feel better.

"Let's go to your room, yeah?" It was more of a statement than a question and she shook her head in response, sniffling.

"I want to go out." She spoke in a cracked voice. "Will you come with me?" Her eyes looked like they were pleading me to accompany her and her lower lip quivered as she spoke again. "Please?" That came out as a whisper.

It was getting intolerable for me to see her in that awful condition. She did not deserve even a bit of the bullshit that was thrown in her face a few minutes ago.
